Introducing, Toes in the Sand - A Block of the Month Quilt

I'm very excited to introduce you to my first Block of the Month Pattern!!

It is fun... mostly borderless... and features triangular blocks!!

Quilt Details
Fabric is PB&J by Basic Grey for Moda
Pattern - Toes in the Sand, JBQ 130
Designed by me
Quilted by Angela Walters
Started on 10/9/12
Finished on 10/22/12
Quilt measures - 64" x 84", Twin Size

Here is the Back Cover

Put your toes in the sand! This Block of the Month features 12 unique blocks all created with the Hex N More Ruler. There are no pesky Y seams! Each month you'll create two blocks from the same design. Creative fabric placement will make your quilt appear to have 24 different blocks. (Full size templates will also be included in the pattern.)

This pattern will be printed in a larger format than my Quilt Patterns. It will be a full color 8 1/2" x 11" Book! The Book will include directions on how to make all 12 blocks and assemble the Toes in the Sand twin size quilt.

Info for Shops
1. Toes in the Sand will be on display at Quilt Market later this week in Moda's booth. For specific details on the fabric featured please speak with your Moda rep.
2. I'm developing a shop guide for Toes in the Sand. Please e-mail me if you would like the guide when it is ready.
3. In an effort to make things fun & simple for shops, the fabric requirements to make all of the blocks are Fat Eighths. Each month uses 3-5 Fat Eighths to create 2 blocks. All 24 blocks are made from 51 Fat Eighths over the course of the year.
4. The Pattern & Hex N More Ruler are available through all of my distributors or directly from Jaybird Quilts.

A BIG thank you to my dad for helping me out yesterday on this last minute photo shoot!! Here are some of our outtakes!

The lifeguard tower seemed like a good place...
...but the wind was not cooperative!

Down by the water
We just couldn't get high enough above the quilt to make it work.
So we headed to the rocks. The wind was still our enemy for a little while.
Eventually the wind calmed down

We took a few with the sand in the background too.
Then I had to figure out how to get off the rocks!
Easier said than done...
I made it to the top in one piece!!
Dad suggested we take a few from the top of the rocks.
...but again the wind was not cooperating!
We headed back to the lifeguard stand for a few photos in the sand.

...and ended up getting this great shot that you can see on the back of the pattern cover. I LOVE how you can see Angela's amazing quilting!

I just signed up for this BOM last night!
I LOVE how you always include out takes from your photo shoots. Although I don't know you, I think this gives a good glimpse at your personality and how you are a super fun person without any "designer" ego!!
I already have used your Hex n more ruler to make the Tasty runner and it is SUPER easy and makes a gorgeous quilt.
Thanks for all your terrific work!!
