Pre-Quilt Market Frenzy!

I can't believe it is already October!! Where did this year go?

Things are very busy over here! I'm in the pre-quilt market frenzy. It includes finalizing my new patterns, working with testers, sewing additional samples... etc!

Here is a peek at what I'm working on... and a peek at some of my new patterns!

--

Plaid Parade in Kona solids just arrived back from Angela. I'll be re-releasing this pattern soon with the addition of size options!
I've been working on a lot of binding, including binding hexagon edges. The plan is to have a tutorial together for you soon!

Lots of sewing!! I just finished an adorable sample using Lucy's Crab Shack by Sweetwater. Those bicycles are just irresistible!

So are you ready for a peek at some of the new patterns??

--

First up is Science Fair. Random fact but I used to compete in Science Fairs as a kid and won a few metals along the way. The Science Fair shown above features Architextures a new fabric line coming soon from Robert Kaufman. This quilt is super easy to make with the assistance of my Hex N More ruler. I also have one in the works with Kate Spain's new line Honey Honey. (It's what I'm binding in the photos above!)

Next is Traffic! The inspiration for this quilt was... Traffic!! I was stuck in traffic on the 5 and the constant stop and go was the inspiration for the columns! The quilt you see features Valentina a new line from Robert Kaufman.

Lotus is the third sneak peek for today. Cutting the large Lotus blocks is a breeze with my Hex N More ruler. Fabric = Lake Country Batiks by Robert Kaufman.

I'll reveal more about ALL my new patterns soon!!!
:-)

Julie - these patterns are fantastic!! I love them all, but Traffic is my favorite (even after being stuck in three horrible jams last Friday on the way to a wedding). Can't wait to see the rest!

Wow, Julie, you're prolific! Didn't you just release new patterns a few months ago? And since then you also published a book!

I love Plaid Parade! It's not new? I don't remember seeing it before, but maybe it's more striking to me in this colorway. I finally got a Hex n More ruler. My roommate picked up another ruler of mine and said, "see, you already had one". Men...lol I feel your pain about the 5! I stay down here in my little niche in Imperial Beach. The drive up by where you are can be brutal! Now, whenever you have pics of your quilts outside, I always make it an I Spy....can I recognize where Julie is today? 8-) Have fun at Market, and take lots of pictures for us!

Traffic and Science Fair is awesome and will now have to be added to my collection. Are you going to be at festival as well as market? I was hoping to pick up your ruler in houston but not sure who is going to be carring it.

Your new patterns are gorgeous! The plaid and lotus are my favorites so far. Love the colors and complex patterns you create from basic shapes like hexagons. Keep it up! K-
