It's a color me happy kind of day - with a giveaway!

Disclosure time: This is a sponsored giveaway by Fat Quarter Shop

Who's up for a giveaway today?!?!?

When the crew at Fat Quarter Shop contacted me to let me know that Mini Disco had been chosen as the March pattern of the month, I was beyond excited!

I love working with the Fat Quarter Shop, and Mini Disco has been so well received (she's so much fun to make!), I was happy dancing around the studio.

My Robert Kaufman Kona Solids Sunrise charm pack scraps from the Mini Disco cover sample.

Here are a few of your Mini Disco quilts!
You can share more of them using #Jaybirdmini

So of course when they asked if we could do a giveaway to mark the occasion, I picked Vanessa Christenson's Color Me Happy fat quarter bundle!

And then I found a few #ColorMeHappyFabric posts that were too good not to share:

What sewing or quilting projects color you happy? Tell us about them in the comments for a chance to win that V & Co fat quarter bundle.

Sponsored Giveaway: Featuring Sew Modern!

disclosure: this is a sponsored giveaway by Sew Modern

--

It's time for another giveaway!

Today Sew Modern is here! Sew Modern is a Brick & Mortar shop in Los Angeles that also has an online store FULL of beautiful fabric. It happens to be located just 3 miles from my brother's house which makes it super convenient for me. {Especially when I need to sew 13 pillowcases last minute.}

--

Here are some of the many reasons I love sew modern.

1. Great Fabric Selection. You may remember that I picked out the fabrics for my new Come What May quilt when I was teaching at Sew Modern in January. Sew Modern is full of great fabrics that you can mix and match until you come up with the perfect combination for your project. They also carry EVERY SINGLE color of Kona Cotton. Yup, every single one.

2. Friendly & Helpful Staff. You know how sometimes you have a great friend but you don't get to talk often enough?... And when you do catch up it is like you haven't skipped a beat? Well that is the staff at Sew Modern. They really are great at making you feel welcome, answering questions and helping you pick the right fabric and notions for any and all projects.

3. Adorable Displays. Sew Modern has great big glass windows in the front and instead of blocking them with large displays they have created a sitting area. They change up the decor regularly to feature new quilts, pillows, accessories and window displays. It's always very colorful and full of inspiration.

4. Great Classes. Sew Modern knows how important a great class is and they have a wide variety offered by many teachers. They also ofter kids classes which I think is SO awesome. Get them sewing young!! I've even taught there a few times.

So to sum it all up, Sew Modern rocks. Honestly it is my favorite place to go to find fabric for a project. The feel of the shop, the selection, and the staff just make it the perfect quilt shop for me.

On a side note, I'm sorry for the lack of a Scrap Sunday post this past weekend. My Brother & SIL brought the kids down to visit for the weekend and we were having so much fun that I lost track of time. I'm also headed up to LA today to spend a few days with them so it might be quiet on here again for a few days. :-)

Ready for another giveaway?
Today Mad About Patchwork is here with some yummy fabric for you to drool over!!

Mad About Patchwork is a great online shop in Canada.
{They ship to US & Internationally as well}

One of my favorite things about the shop is that they have over 150 colors of Kona in stock. They also sell custom fat quarter bundles, and have a custom cutting option for charms and strips in the color of your choice! That is what I call service!

--

Another really cool thing is that they created City Quilts kits to go with many of the amazing quilts in City Quilts by Cherri House. The kits have all the great Kona solids you'll need!

Ann Kelle Slicker Giveaway Winner

It was really interesting for me to see your comments on the giveaway post. I started to wonder which color was getting more votes, so I decided to make a pie chart. The black section represents all of the "other" colors picked. Blue beat out green by just two votes.

I asked Kelle why Pink was her favorite color. Here is her response...

I have never officially declared pink as my favorite color (stop rolling your eyes, Julie). Yes, all my running shoes have pink in them. I'd love to have a pink house one day. And my luggage is hot pink. It's true, I think pink can do no wrong. But, to be fair to all the other colors, I can't pick just one. Pink just makes me the happiest. When I see it, I'm flooded with the playful, carefree feeling of being a kid again.

It's time to announce the winner of the Ann Kelle slicker fabric. Thank you to Robert Kaufman fabrics for donating the fabric!

The winner is...
