block 5
the twirl!

sew another 3 sets of strips together
and
follow the cutting instructions to make your pieced triangles

then take 6 from one strip.
and lay them out like this.

and then sew them together as we have been doing each week

another option is the scrappy twirl
i've found that to visually keep the "twirl" it helps to keep all the larger units dark and smaller units light or vice versa

here are some twirls with some floating hexagons

next weekend i'll be at quilt market!
but have no fear... i'll make sure the next post is ready for you before i go.. and it will be up on saturday the 22nd!

we only have 2 more weeks left in the quilt-a-long!
next week i'll show you the last 2 blocks
and then on the 29th i'll show you the assembly directions for both layouts!

Okay, how many blocks of these are we supposed to make? How big is this quilt going to be? LOL....I have so many pieces left over, I don't think I'm making enough of each block!

I love this one!

I *finally* got the correct ruler; tomorrow it's quilt 'til I wilt day! :) The only thing I don't have is the solid fabric. Did you say we'd need about two yards of that? Thanks, Julie! :)
