The one that I am in! ;-) I started rereading your posts and I could not stop. I enjoyed reading about your first MBS project and about your quilts being published in magazines. I always feel so happy for you. Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary. The blog world would not be the same without you.

I love your post about your sweet niece's birth! I also love her quilts you made, especially the doll dress one.

Happy Blogiversary!

I absolutely adore your binding tutorial from January. I've used it several times when making quilts or table toppers ... I had been cutting my strips at 2.5", but didn't like how big the back was when folded over. And I certainly wasn't attaching my strips to each other on the bias! Your tutorial gives me perfect binding on my projects!

I also LOVE Rent and can never get enough of the music. As for your giveaway, I think my favorite post is the Phillies quilt and also I love the quilts (and posts) about gifts for your niece and nephew, they're thoughtful and give me some great inspiration!

I have been a dedicated subscriber and you are the reason I was bitten by the quilting bug and Tula Pink fabrics. Exactly one year ago I gave birth to my sweet girl, I wanted to make her something and I found your hushabye quilt on Moda Bakeshop. The quilt and fabric told a story that I could make of hers and mine. I have made this quilt identical to your tutorial and have become a fan of quilting. Your blog is really special to me and I look forward to every post. You make me giggle and I love how you gush over your nephew and niece.Congratulatons, I cannot wait to see what more is in store for your blog.

Hi Julie,
Congratulations on a wonderful, crazy, busy and happy year! My most favoritest post was this one:

http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/ive-been-published-in-magazine.html

I was so happy for you and I could feel how thrilled you were with that post. It was almost like you were my daughter and I was sharing in your success. Your way of writing makes us feel so comfortable at your blog - you have a way of bringing a smile to my face when I read your posts. Thank you for that and happy blogiversary!!

I love your blog! I found you only a few months ago but have checked your blog almost daily since. You have introduced me to so many things...Tula Pink, siggy swaps, swaps in general and most importantly Tula Pink. I love the fact you take time out of your busy schedule to post giveaways and such. If I had to choose a favorite post it would be the dolly dresses tutorial (http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/dolly-dresses-tutorial.html) or all of your stash postings, its great to know I am not the only one who has a growing stash ;)Happy Blogiversary!!! I am looking forward to the next year!

Congratulations on your blog anniversary. I appreciate your blog and your tutorials. They have been very inspirational. after reading your blog entry "the beginning" , I've started checking on your blog. I am a working mom, and my time with my family is very precious for me. Therefore I am very careful how much time I spend on my computer. Needles to say I enjoy seeing your photos and your creations. Thank you!

Congratulation! I really like to visit your blog. I like your things, and they inspire me. My favorite post is this one: "a wedding... a funeral... and some much loved quilts". Quilting is such a nice tradition, and I would like to give things to my family and friends that they can use and every time they look at they remember me.

There are so many things I like from your blog...the refreshing way you write...the passion you show for what you do... the way you show us the love for your family...but most of all that even though you have your business you still share your knowledge with others and I admire that a lot! That's way a absolutely love your tutorial ;-)

Happy anniversary!!! I love your blog. Your posts are inspiring and I love how you post giveaways. My favorite post is when you searched for the makers of the wedding ring quilt you have. http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/12/wedding-funeral-and-some-much-loved.html
Quilts are sooo stitched with love and nothing more beautiful in my opinion to pass down through generations.

Congratulations once again!

Julie - I am SO happy for your blog. My favorite parts is the weekly stash reports. It is so much fun to see all that comes and goes from your stash. I can't even imagine being that productive!

I have a most serious problem
I cannot seem to pick
The post that I most favor,
Please tell me what's the trick?

It might be the wedding and funeral post,
To show how life goes on
Or is it the wonky log cabin
(a tutorial I wish you'd expound upon!)

Yet maybe the Dolly Dresses tutorial,
I love it so very much!
I can't seem to pick my favorite - they're all great - you have the writing touch!

So if I have to pick a favorite,
I'll use "Eeny Meeny Miny Mo"!
And which post it finally ends on,
will be my pick, although,
Any post you write that challenges us,
Is a winner as far as I'm knowing,
'Cause after I read your posts,
I'm motivated to keep sewing!

I'm pretty new to your blog so I took this opportunity to go through your archives and catch up. The above post is my favorite. I guess because the story you tell about how you became a quilter is so sweet. The way you took over your Mom's machine and she was happy about it ... that reminds me so much of me and my mom. Moms are the best!

Happy Blogiversary!!

I just started following you because of the quilt along, so I would have to say that my favorite one is the cutting of the hex pieces using the special ruler that I of course had to purchase and am so glad that I did. Congrats!

I enjoy all of your tutorials; however, one of my favorites is the making of labels. The circle quilt is my favorite quilt. I also like all of your stash reports. It makes me feel so much better about how much fabric I have- haha!

Hey there Miss Jaybird! My favorite post is http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/09/doll-quilt-swap.html

I started to quilt last fall after a long absence because I was sick to death of civil war prints and traditional patterns. then there was this fabulous post with bright colors, wonky quilting, and links to others who wanted to 'quilt outside the lines'. I knew I had found what I was looking for. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Blogiversary! And I love this post!! I had a very annoying teen sensation's song stuck in my head, and now I'm happily singing the Rent song...also a fav of mine. =)
But from other posts, I'd have to say your perfect binding tutorial is...well, perfect. But I love seeing every one one of the quilts you have made. Oh, and when you post about your family (especially that cute nephew & new little neice of yours) it is so sweet! Congrats on a great year!

I'll be honest - I've just recently stumbled upon your blog, so I haven't read all your posts (or that many of them - only since I found it last month). But, I enjoyed the one where you referenced Project Runway. In my quilt guild, I'm the youngest person and sometimes it's hard to connect to the other women there. It's really nice to find a community of 20-something quilters on the internet who share similar interests. (PS - Love RENT too - seen it twice on Broadway and once on on tour!)

Okay, I haven't been reading long, so I have to pick something recent as my favorite. I would say it's when you announced your quilt patten that was featured in Quilts 'n More...becaues this weekend I saw it in the grocery store check out line and I thought, "I know that quilt! I follow that blogger!" I ALMOST bought it, but regretfully put it back. How much fun would it be if I actually won a copy & kit?

Annette said...

Congrats Julie! I've absolutely love your blog and amazed at all of your accomplishments! What a great giveaway! I normally don't purchase magazines but I had to get the ones you were featured in. Keep up the good work

See what happens when I am away from the computer over the weekend... you go and have a blogavirsary without me! But 242 people latter... I love following you and your adventures and seeing your quilt, Square City, hanging there so beautifully! http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/search/label/quilt%20market

You have all these wonderful quilt posts (which are terribly inspiring!), but my favorite post I read was this one http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/i-miss-this-kid.html about your nephew. Your love for him is so apparent. I like reading blogs where I feel like I get to know the author as a person, not just their craft.

I'm new to sewing and am about to start my first quilt. It may sound simple or maybe its well known, but I saw in one of the pics that you use hairclips to hold the binding on. This is such a good idea! I'm excited to try it, rather than trying to pin it or something!

I thought I posted but the internetz must've eaten it!

http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/03/wip-wednesday-organizing-fabric-stash.html

I just started quilted a few months ago and was trying desperately to understand all the designers and lingo used. I found your blog and saw this post that just had so much excitement for something called Tula Pink. I went and googled what exactly Tula Pink was (who!) and ever since then have been spying Tula Pink everywhere.

I found almost the entire Neptune line in my local store and then in a shop 30 minutes away found the purple colorway of Full Moon Forest.

I don't know you, but I can't help but think of you whenever I spy some Tula Pink. Thanks for always making posts that make me smile. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Blogiversary. I love everything about your blog. You churn out so many wonderful quilts that give me such inspiration and also make me aware that I don't get done far enough and that I need to get off my butt and finish something. Your tutorials are fabulous as well. I especially love the post you made about the fabric organizers called Polar Notions. I really love how you can put several lines or colorways on one mini bolt. I am sooo buying some of them! Your sunday stash posts always have me drooling - and I thought I bought a lot of fabric - you certainly put me to shame.
