«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 281 of 281The one that I am in! ;-) I started rereading your posts and I could not stop. I enjoyed reading about your first MBS project and about your quilts being published in magazines. I always feel so happy for you. Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary. The blog world would not be the same without you.
I love your post about your sweet niece's birth! I also love her quilts you made, especially the doll dress one.
Happy Blogiversary!
I absolutely adore your binding tutorial from January. I've used it several times when making quilts or table toppers ... I had been cutting my strips at 2.5", but didn't like how big the back was when folded over. And I certainly wasn't attaching my strips to each other on the bias! Your tutorial gives me perfect binding on my projects!
I also LOVE Rent and can never get enough of the music. As for your giveaway, I think my favorite post is the Phillies quilt and also I love the quilts (and posts) about gifts for your niece and nephew, they're thoughtful and give me some great inspiration!
I have been a dedicated subscriber and you are the reason I was bitten by the quilting bug and Tula Pink fabrics. Exactly one year ago I gave birth to my sweet girl, I wanted to make her something and I found your hushabye quilt on Moda Bakeshop. The quilt and fabric told a story that I could make of hers and mine. I have made this quilt identical to your tutorial and have become a fan of quilting. Your blog is really special to me and I look forward to every post. You make me giggle and I love how you gush over your nephew and niece.Congratulatons, I cannot wait to see what more is in store for your blog.
Congratulations! I enjoy your blog so much and really like the posts
about your family. But my favorite so far has been the hexagon quilt-along. Very fun!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/04/hexagon-quilt-along-block-1.html
Thanks for the great inspiration and the chance to win good stuff:)
I really enjoyed your studio pictures and showing us your setup, tools, etc. Your blog is fun to read and inspiring! Susan
Hi Julie,
Congratulations on a wonderful, crazy, busy and happy year! My most favoritest post was this one:
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/ive-been-published-in-magazine.html
I was so happy for you and I could feel how thrilled you were with that post. It was almost like you were my daughter and I was sharing in your success. Your way of writing makes us feel so comfortable at your blog - you have a way of bringing a smile to my face when I read your posts. Thank you for that and happy blogiversary!!
I love your blog! I found you only a few months ago but have checked your blog almost daily since. You have introduced me to so many things...Tula Pink, siggy swaps, swaps in general and most importantly Tula Pink. I love the fact you take time out of your busy schedule to post giveaways and such. If I had to choose a favorite post it would be the dolly dresses tutorial (http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/dolly-dresses-tutorial.html) or all of your stash postings, its great to know I am not the only one who has a growing stash ;)Happy Blogiversary!!! I am looking forward to the next year!
Happy Blog Ani! It's been an amazing year and I am so proud of you.
Congratulations on your blog anniversary. I appreciate your blog and your tutorials. They have been very inspirational. after reading your blog entry "the beginning" , I've started checking on your blog. I am a working mom, and my time with my family is very precious for me. Therefore I am very careful how much time I spend on my computer. Needles to say I enjoy seeing your photos and your creations. Thank you!
Congratulations on 1 year Julie! You are amazing at what you've accomplished in the last year!
Congrats on your blogiversary! I look forward to seeing all of your posts. One that I've returned to frequently is on your studio design: http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/my-studio.html
As I've been tweaking my studio area, it was great to see how yours is set up.
Congrats! My favorite posts are always the giveaway summaries, i've won lots of stuff because of you! But I also love this post:
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/sunday-stashwk8.html
It inspired me to make my own red and aqua gnome homes.
Congratulation! I really like to visit your blog. I like your things, and they inspire me. My favorite post is this one: "a wedding... a funeral... and some much loved quilts". Quilting is such a nice tradition, and I would like to give things to my family and friends that they can use and every time they look at they remember me.
Congratulations!! Hope this is the first of many more...
There are so many things I like from your blog...the refreshing way you write...the passion you show for what you do... the way you show us the love for your family...but most of all that even though you have your business you still share your knowledge with others and I admire that a lot! That's way a absolutely love your tutorial ;-)
Thanks for the opportunity to win... God Bless and have a wonderful Sunday!
^A^ngel♥
Happy anniversary!!! I love your blog. Your posts are inspiring and I love how you post giveaways. My favorite post is when you searched for the makers of the wedding ring quilt you have. http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/12/wedding-funeral-and-some-much-loved.html
Quilts are sooo stitched with love and nothing more beautiful in my opinion to pass down through generations.
Congratulations once again!
galew417@comcast.net
Julie - Congratulations! I love reading your blog. I think my favorite recent post was the one with Aliyah, I love seeing the new baby with a quilt. I also really like your circle around quilt.
I love all of the things you come up with, but I have to admit, I have gone back to your binding tutorial the most. Thanks for sharing! http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/search/label/binding
Julie - I am SO happy for your blog. My favorite parts is the weekly stash reports. It is so much fun to see all that comes and goes from your stash. I can't even imagine being that productive!
I have a most serious problem
I cannot seem to pick
The post that I most favor,
Please tell me what's the trick?
It might be the wedding and funeral post,
To show how life goes on
Or is it the wonky log cabin
(a tutorial I wish you'd expound upon!)
Yet maybe the Dolly Dresses tutorial,
I love it so very much!
I can't seem to pick my favorite - they're all great - you have the writing touch!
So if I have to pick a favorite,
I'll use "Eeny Meeny Miny Mo"!
And which post it finally ends on,
will be my pick, although,
Any post you write that challenges us,
Is a winner as far as I'm knowing,
'Cause after I read your posts,
I'm motivated to keep sewing!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/05/beginning.html
I'm pretty new to your blog so I took this opportunity to go through your archives and catch up. The above post is my favorite. I guess because the story you tell about how you became a quilter is so sweet. The way you took over your Mom's machine and she was happy about it ... that reminds me so much of me and my mom. Moms are the best!
Happy Blogiversary!!
I am blown away that it has only been a year of blogging for you. Wow! I love seeing all your finished projects. I enjoy your design style and creativity. It is fun to see what you are going to come up with next.
Congratulations on your blogiversary! I love seeing your list of accomplishments over the past year. I am happy to have met you through your blog. I think my favorite post was when you announced your circle pattern made the cover of the latest Quilts and More magazine at: http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/04/cover-really.html.
I also loved your chocolate covered pretzels post at: http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/03/loaded-chocolate-covered-pretzels.html. Well done!
Ok...it took me awhile to find the link, but here it is:
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/12/wedding-funeral-and-some-much-loved.html
I loved this post where you shared your discovery of your quilting heritage...perhaps because I, too, have a quilting heritage. Thanks so much for your great blog posts every week! Love this circle quilt and would love to win the ruler!
Congratulations!! I love practically everything about your blog, the tutorials, the quilts, fabrics, swaps, etc etc.
But I love your humor the most :) I usually leave your blog with a smile on my face, and for that I thank you!
this post made me smile :)
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/11/i-was-in-kitchen.html
Thank you for an amazing give away, I would love to win!!

I love reading your blog... it keeps me motivated and inspired.. also, like the giveaway listings.. my favorite post is the Vera Bradley (I'm a fan) quilt and purse 06/09/10... love the quilt and love all of your helpful tutorials...
congrats on the one year Julie!
i keep coming back because i can almost guarantee that whatever you post will make me smile :) and my favorite post of yours was the studio shots you had done; mostly because they are real. http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/search/label/studio
thanx for the chance!
Congrats on one year! That's really awesome! I can't imagine how much time you spend just writing/making all of your posts, but I love it because there is always something new to read/see. Recently, I am loving your binding tutorial, but I'm sure I've already mentioned that.
Dear Julie,
Congratulations on a year well spent, and well enjoyed by me, one of your readers. I love to see what you are working on, and particularly liked your Dolly Dresses interpretation last December, http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/12/dolly-dresses-quilt.html Thanks for the tutorials and the links to giveaways. Best wishes in the next year of blogging and sewing. Kathie L in Allentown
I just started following you because of the quilt along, so I would have to say that my favorite one is the cutting of the hex pieces using the special ruler that I of course had to purchase and am so glad that I did. Congrats!
Hi Julie, congrats on one year!! I've read your blog from the beginning. My favorite posts are where you report in from quilt shows/market! :) FUN!
You are an inspiration for quilters everywhere! :)
Your blog is always very inspiring - it's hard to pick a favorite, but I have been enjoying the hexagons a lot. I haven't made any yet, but I've been snowed under with overdue projects and the ending of school. Keep up all the great stuff - looking forward to another fun year of your blog.
I enjoy all of your tutorials; however, one of my favorites is the making of labels. The circle quilt is my favorite quilt. I also like all of your stash reports. It makes me feel so much better about how much fabric I have- haha!
Congrats on having one of the best blogs in blogland! Can't wait for many more years!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/07/label-tutorial-spoonflower-way.html
Hey there Miss Jaybird! My favorite post is http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/09/doll-quilt-swap.html
I started to quilt last fall after a long absence because I was sick to death of civil war prints and traditional patterns. then there was this fabulous post with bright colors, wonky quilting, and links to others who wanted to 'quilt outside the lines'. I knew I had found what I was looking for. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Blogiversary! And I love this post!! I had a very annoying teen sensation's song stuck in my head, and now I'm happily singing the Rent song...also a fav of mine. =)
But from other posts, I'd have to say your perfect binding tutorial is...well, perfect. But I love seeing every one one of the quilts you have made. Oh, and when you post about your family (especially that cute nephew & new little neice of yours) it is so sweet! Congrats on a great year!
Congratulations on your anniversary!! I loved the recent tutorial(s) you did w/ John on the cushions. Such inspiration as always~
I'll be honest - I've just recently stumbled upon your blog, so I haven't read all your posts (or that many of them - only since I found it last month). But, I enjoyed the one where you referenced Project Runway. In my quilt guild, I'm the youngest person and sometimes it's hard to connect to the other women there. It's really nice to find a community of 20-something quilters on the internet who share similar interests. (PS - Love RENT too - seen it twice on Broadway and once on on tour!)
Congratulations! My favourite post was Life Cycles Quilt - I love how such a simple block makes such a darling baby quilt and I love the way you personalized it.
Hugs,
Kerry
My favorite post is the Moda Bake Shop Candybox tutorial - because that is how I found your blog. I check it almost everyday because I enjoy your sense of humor and I love that there's another young adult doing fun quilts like me :)
Okay, I haven't been reading long, so I have to pick something recent as my favorite. I would say it's when you announced your quilt patten that was featured in Quilts 'n More...becaues this weekend I saw it in the grocery store check out line and I thought, "I know that quilt! I follow that blogger!" I ALMOST bought it, but regretfully put it back. How much fun would it be if I actually won a copy & kit?
Congrats Julie! I've absolutely love your blog and amazed at all of your accomplishments! What a great giveaway! I normally don't purchase magazines but I had to get the ones you were featured in. Keep up the good work
See what happens when I am away from the computer over the weekend... you go and have a blogavirsary without me! But 242 people latter... I figure it out! so the post that is my favorite is when you and your blogging buddies are running amuck at Quilt Market! I love following you and your adventures and seeing your quilt, Square City, hanging there so beautifully! http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/search/label/quilt%20market
Love the blog, the tutorials for pillows and lifecycle quilt, and that you used that song for your blogiversary!
Congratulations! I really enjoy your WIP Wednesday posts. I love to see what you're working on and I often get inspiration for my own projects.
You're a funny lady. I would love to win!
Hi Julie,
Congrats on your blogiversary! How very exciting. I know that I appreciate all of the informative and fun posts that you put up every week. My favorite was the tutorial on making quilt labels. It made me realize how important they are!

Congratulations on a year of blogging.
You have all these wonderful quilt posts (which are terribly inspiring!), but my favorite post I read was this one http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/i-miss-this-kid.html about your nephew. Your love for him is so apparent. I like reading blogs where I feel like I get to know the author as a person, not just their craft.
Happy anniversary! You're so inspiring - love seeing what you come up with next. That reminds me, I'm behind on my hexagons... :)
I'm new to sewing and am about to start my first quilt. It may sound simple or maybe its well known, but I saw in one of the pics that you use hairclips to hold the binding on. This is such a good idea! I'm excited to try it, rather than trying to pin it or something!
smooze13@aol.com
CONGRATS on one year!!!! Wow, I'm impressed you've done all that in a year. Keep it up!
I love your blog - and happy year to you. I'm new to this stuff but I love coming back to yours. Your posts are cute, simple, and inspiring. Your projects match my tastes... but now I've got to stop dreaming about them and do something myself. That Rouenneries quilt that you just posted is beautiful! Good Luck with the next year.
I think you caught my attention with your colors and style. I really remember your personalized quilt labels and how creative they are. My artist husband liked the look, and said he would do that for me. Uh, still waiting on that one, and you showed us how last summer....
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/07/label-tutorial-spoonflower-way.html
How the blazes did I miss your binding tutorial before now?! I've never been able to figure out how to attach the ends so neatly. Now I can, yea!
Well, I hate to look like a copy-cat, but I like your post on the perfect binding (tutorial) as does everyone else.
I also like the beginning post about how you got into quilting.
And, all your "how to" links or posts. I printed out the Flower Table Runner pattern that you linked to back in August.
thanks alot.
now i'm gonna have that song in my head ALL flippin' day.
:D
congrats.
now send me the kit.
or better yet...the finished one that i really want.
*wink*
Congratulations on your blog-aversary!
You have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. You should be proud. :)
My favorite post(s) of yours were the ones showing your studio:
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/my-studio.html
Aside from looking at pretty quilts, I really like like looking at where and how people work. It gives me insight and ideas that maybe I could incorporate into my space and time sewing.
Congratulations again!
The first post I came over to your blog for was the Jif pillow! It was so cute and your blog is just wonderful - I've stuck around! Thanks for having such a neat blog to read and such helpful information to share!

Your binding tutorial is what i used to bind my first quilt - thank you for taking a newbie by the hand and making it much easier than I thought it would be! http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/perfect-binding-tutorial.html
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/12/wedding-funeral-and-some-much-loved.html
My favorite! I love family history, and old quilts and new ones - and discovering those special people that came before us and paved our way. Thanks for all you do!
I love looking at your quilts...I think my favorite is your life cycles quilt. Simple, but beautiful!
How exciting! Congrats! I love all binding tutorials anywhere I can find them! I'm definetly not good at binding, I should probably just start paying someone to do them. lol
mmm, I love your chocalate covered pretzels tutorial. Yummy goodness!
Congratulations! You are so talented! I have been following along with the hexie quilt and I just love it! I have added you to my google homepage through reader and check your posts each day!
love the label tutorial! so much information and love that!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/07/label-tutorial-spoonflower-way.html
thanks for keeping me informed!
I loved this post http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2009/06/neptune.html that hexagon quilt is very inspiring.
I also like very mucha all your teachin/tutorial posts
Thanks
Hugs
Congrats on your blog-versary! Love your tutorials.
Wahoo! What a great year :)
Your tutorial about how to finish the binding so that there is not a huge fabric lump where the 2 ends come together-that was the best blog reading ever! Seems kind of boring-I know-but to me it was FASCINATING :)
Thanks so much for all the inspiration!
~Amy
I thought I posted but the internetz must've eaten it!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/03/wip-wednesday-organizing-fabric-stash.html
I just started quilted a few months ago and was trying desperately to understand all the designers and lingo used. I found your blog and saw this post that just had so much excitement for something called Tula Pink. I went and googled what exactly Tula Pink was (who!) and ever since then have been spying Tula Pink everywhere.
I found almost the entire Neptune line in my local store and then in a shop 30 minutes away found the purple colorway of Full Moon Forest.
I don't know you, but I can't help but think of you whenever I spy some Tula Pink. Thanks for always making posts that make me smile. Happy Anniversary!
I am new to your blog but I like what i see and am becoming a follower.
lbroadstreet(at)tds(dot)net
Wow. Happy Blogiversary! I saw that magazine and coveted that quilt!! How did I miss it was you! So awesome!
Congrats !!!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01/perfect-binding-tutorial.html
so it's done the right way ! good pictures and instructions !
I LOVE the play day quilt also . And the pretzels ...
Happy Blogiversary. I love everything about your blog. You churn out so many wonderful quilts that give me such inspiration and also make me aware that I don't get done far enough and that I need to get off my butt and finish something. Your tutorials are fabulous as well. I especially love the post you made about the fabric organizers called Polar Notions. I really love how you can put several lines or colorways on one mini bolt. I am sooo buying some of them! Your sunday stash posts always have me drooling - and I thought I bought a lot of fabric - you certainly put me to shame. And of course you always have wonderful giveaways.
galaxie_bleu{at}yahoo[dot]com
Happy, happy Blogiversary!!! I have enjoyed your tutorials and actually ALL your posts so much. But my favorite is when you announced that you were hosting Round 2 of the Modern Siggy Swap. I missed Round 1 and signed up for this one right away. Now....I will have a block from YOU in MY house in one of MY quilts!! I think that is amazing. Thanks for the blogiversary giveaway and for blogging!
http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/04/sunday-stashwk16.html
I love all the tula pink posts. Can't wait to see her next line.
Your blog is awesome, congrats on 1 year! I can't wait till Neptune month in Bee Beautiful. :)
Just found your blog and you have amazing talent. I like the post about hexagons and the hexagon quilt along (that's a mouthful if I even got it right).
truthfull I have just found you so i cannot say which would be my favorite but in the next week I will return and study you site. I am learning so many new things and this is so much fun . In what little I have read you have a sense of humor. carolyn
I found your label tutorial (jaybirdquilts.com/2009/07/label-tutorial-spoonflower-way.html) very helpful. Thanks for posting it. And for doing a giveaway to celebrate!
Congratulations! :)
I love your tutorials! I always love learning how to make new things! I really liked the dolly dresses tutorial (http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/02/dolly-dresses-tutorial.html). The quilt was really cute!
