i'm in 2 bees.
march was my month in bee imaginative.
and i didn't have to make a block...
so somehow march got away from me when it came to bee beautiful
luckily angela was super understanding!
she asked for blocks with 90 degree angles..
no other rules.
i made 2 for her.
first i started with a square... and built around it..
and for the second i started similar..
but then got a bit more "free" with my piecing.
and april has been audrie's month
she had us make blocks from material obsession 2
i also made 2 for her.
and i'll never make this block again.
sometimes bees inspire you to make blocks
and sometimes you learn what you don't want to make
don't worry audrie... i still love you!

I do like the challenge of piecing some difficult blocks occasionally but when I'm done...I'm done for a while too. All of these blocks look great Julie.
i love my blocks! thanks!
All the blocks look great! I love the color combo in the 2nd one.
Haha! I'm sorry! I love the blocks and I love you for doing them! And once again, I'm sorry! :)
they're awesome!
I love that "free" piecing!
I love the last two blocks, but I completely understand. Although I am currently teaching my daughter to sew, so I have been looking for only really straight line patterns. Soon I will need a good challenge or two.
Very cool piecing....and I like how you are using the 60 degree ruler....neat...gives me lots of ideas :)

Those last 2 look awesome...I don't think I could make a whole quilt out of them though....good thing for bees!
Your points look great on that star, but I can see why you'd never want to make it again!
beautiful blocks! I love the colors on those first two blocks for angela. The second set is pretty too, but looks like it could be fussy. Good for you for finishing them!
All four look great! At least you can think outside the box.heheh.ee...
Love the first block! I really need some Wild Thyme.
So you're telling me when my month comes up in my block exchange that I shouldn't choose the block from Material Obsession 2? It sure is a great block!
I agree.
if you like a block style but know it's gonna be a pain in your butt then it's best to source the work out in a bee or swap--like that modern chopped up looking block from oh fransson...got to do that for a bee--never touching it again!! :)
They both look great!!
i need to do some catch up!! it's the last day of the month, better get busy!! :)
Awesome blocks!
Micki
