A few random things.

#1. Angela is having a giveaway. If you want a chance to win a set of my patterns as well as a bunch of other rocking stuff you should check it out.

#2. I've been busy making pillows. It might have something to do with Sew Mama Sew Pillow Month.

#3. Cherri House is doing a quilt a long and Robert Kaufman is doing a giveaway for the fabric you need. I'll be making the orange version.

#4. I posted this to twitter yesterday & I was pretty successful at staying off of everything all day and it felt really really nice.

 Julie Herman

burried under snow & work and decided i'm taking the day off from email/blog/fb/twitter all of it. if you need me i'll be back tomorrow.

#5. You have till tonight to enter the MBS Book giveaway. If you don't see your comment you probably didn't follow the rules or it is in comment moderation. As of right now {8:27am} all proper comments have been posted. The rules are really quite simple yet clearly some people decided not to read them as I got over 50 comments that said things like "pick me" "i want to win" "love this book i want to win" and so on. If you left a comment like that, or if you are a no-reply and didn't leave your e-mail chances are your comment was deleted. Don't say I didn't tell you...

#6. With the help of some neighbors my driveway is finally clear and I can get out of the house for the first time in 48 hours. This was my car yesterday morning.

Thank goodness you have nice neighbors to help you out of that pile of white! Can't wait to see your pillows. I just love Cherri's quilt along and especially the orange one you are doing.

Ugh - we're on day 18 of snow. Not a ton, just constant. I'm over snow for this winter!

I can't wait for Pillow month - I'm on a pillow kick lately.

Wow- that is a LOT of snow! I'm in the Arizona desert and I tend to romanticize snow and the idea of being snowed in. Probably not quite as fun in reality! Good for you for keeping your social media break! :)

Love the orange version.I am really trying to figure out if I can sneak in one more quilt along...as I look at the pile of pretty hexagons that need to be laid out and sew into a quilt top. Glad you were able to stay in for 48 hrs, only kids love that much snow!

I'm hoping to do the Cherry House quilt along too! I've chosen the grey version but I might just do the orange as well!!

Oh wow, glad you had help with that snow. It was a heavy one. We wouldn't have made it out without a snow blower! Glad you enjoyed your technology break. Those are definitely needed.

Not sure if I'm in the right place b/c I have a question about binding. I hate hand sewing in any form so we sew our binding to the back and then flip it to the front and machine sew it down. Why is this looked down upon by some quilters? We enter our quilts in the fair and always get marked down for binding. Is there any other way to do it without hand sewing all the way around?
