inside quilter's home

you'll find this..
on the last page...
i was interview for quick cuts!
{ i was tempted to leave the bookstore like this... but i didn't! }

on newsstands now..
{ & i'll have a few copies in the shop soon! }

a BIG thank you to jared for taking the picture of me that the magazine used!
the magazine wanted a shot of me looking at the camera...

and when jared came to photograph me working in my studio
...i never looked at the camera!
so he came back to do a second shoot with me!!

and like i've said before getting my photo taken usually results in a bunch of photos of me laughing...
i'm a quilter.. not a model!

and in case anyone is wondering...
this isn't my studio!
it's my moms!!
she has so much thread... i'm jealous.

so go grab a copy of quilter's home..
and learn all kinds of things about me that you didn't know
like...
Any brushes with fame?
Are you a work-in-silence gal?
and more!

I figured it wasn't your studio hehe The pictures look great! We can't be objective about our own pictures... I feel odd having my picture taken even to this day.

Congrats on the photo and article. I'm glad you didn't leave B&N, like that; I work there, and would have had to clean up after you. Such a "good" girl.

I totally would have left the book store like that :)

This is so cool - and all the photos are fabulous. Jared does such a great job.

Just noticed that one of the cover stories is "Quilters who Hoard" - perfect issue for you :)

Congratulations! That is so very cool, Julie! I will have to run out and get the issue so that I can read all the "inside" information. And all of the photos are just lovely I tell ya!!

Definitely going to Borders later today. That black and white photo is so great! And yes, thread envy. But your mother lets you "borrow" thread if you need it, right?

Very nice pictures of you and I'm a bit jealous of your mom's studio, heck, I'm jealous of my mom's too!

Cute pictures! How fun to have a mom who sews--mine hates sewing.
I'll definitely want to pick up a copy of the magazine, too!

Oh the thread! Great photos Julie and I am headed off to B & N at lunch for the magazine, maybe I'll leave my bookstore like that for you. And the closest I come to Fame, well my granddaughter Casey McVay is in the July 12 issue of ESPN magazine, she is a "milk moustache ESPN scholar" and there is a 2 page spread this week on all 25 of them!

And I dream of my own loft sewing room. Your mom is one lucky lady! :)

Just read your article, and loved it! I jumped up and down when I read how much you love Linkin Park cuz they are my favorite band, and my favorite music to listen to when in my sewing room (and working out). How awesome that you got to meet them; I'm so jealous! (can't wait till their new CD comes out in Sept.) I didn't know about your first project with Moda, which was cool to learn.

Hi, Just read the article in QH nice little peice GREAT publicity for a talented gal. I kept looking at your pic, I have been to your website b4 but you just looked so familiar. Then it clicked - Herman, I used to live next door to your brother and his wife, I do believe I met you once on a visit you made out west. I have since moved on, but glad to see B & K and now kiddies are doing well, pass on a hello from Deb & Donna too. You are going places kiddo I can just tell. Best to you, and keep on bloggin'.
