find your tribe

months ago i posted about breakdowns..and breakthroughs
since that post i bought kelly's book... read it
& a lot of it has stuck with me

especially the part about "finding your tribe"

i'm am very lucky to have an amazingly supportive family
karin, aliyah, mom, elijah, brad & dad

in addition to my family..
i have a growing "tribe" in my life

and today i'm headed to LA...
to see karin, aliyah, elijah & brad
and..

when i think about the fact that i only met natalie last year... it's a bit crazy.
because i feel like i've known her forever.

natalie is one of those incredibly rare people...
she has a beautiful spirit
always knows the right thing to say
is incredible creative
fabulously generous
welcoming
and i could go on and on

the last time i was at natalie's house...
she made me run to the beach... take my sneakers off...
and stick my toes in the sand..
{ at around 10pm at night... }
this trip i'm coming prepared... with my flip flops...
and plan on spending some quality time with the sand...

and besides the beach...
we will be busy getting ready for the international quilt festival in long beach!
if you are in the area.. come visit!
we have booths 937 & 1036

i'll be doing demos of circle around

and my hexagons from the hexagon quilt a long!

and in true beyond the reef fashion...
natalie has lots of yummy hawaiian & beautiful prints!
some of which she just added to her new online shop

i'll try to take lots of photos of the show to share!
{ and do my best to not buy a ton of fabric... eek!!! }

but back to my tribe.
i have a great tribe.
rachael is in my tribe
as well as many others.

and nat...
natalie has been a great addition to " my tribe"
:-)

Looking forward to seeing you and Natalie in LB. And of course the best part of the trip is family, nieces and nephews, sand and water! (And I had a soft fabric week last week so I could splurge a bit at the show)

Oh, just read that you will be in MY city for the LB Quilt Festival! This will be my first quilt show and I will absolutely come by your booth just to get a famous person sighting...and if I have the nerve I'll introduce myself. Have a safe trip out here!

It sounds to be very fun, productive, and amazing trip for you. Enjoy yourself and take an extra dip in the sand for the rest of us.

Sounds like a fun trip! I'd love to take off to Long Beach for the Quilt Festival and meet you and Natalie (I follow her blog, too). And I actually could go this weekend if I didn't have so much stuff to get done. But it's still very tempting...I'd love to get away and have my godparents to stay with in Long Beach. So tempting!

I'm really really going to try and make it this year. Long Beach is only 1 hour from me and it looks to be loads of fun. If I go I'll stop by your booth for sure ☺

Welcome to CA!! So the June gloom came back today (well, at least where I live a couple beaches south of LB), but hopefully you will get some California sunshine before you leave :-)

I got the book after your 1st post & have read it twice now. I love the book and ideas in it. In fact some of my tribe members are now reading it.

Have a great trip to CA and enjoy the quilt show.
