Today we continue our cutting tutorials for the Hex N More.
Full Color Directions are also included with each Hex N More Ruler.
Last week I showed you how to cut 60° Triangles & Half Hexagons. The next shape we are doing to cut is the Hexagon. The Hex N More can cut four sizes of Hexagons. The measurements are based on the height of the hexagon. This makes rotary cutting the hexagons from strips simple & easy!
With today's tutorial I'm demonstrating how to cut a 4" Finished Size Hexagon.
5. Align cut edges with solid 4 1/2" hexagons lines on ruler.
8. Cut along right edge of ruler to trip strip. Discard triangles or cut small 1" triangles for another project. Repeat steps above to continue cutting hexagons along the strip.
The same 4 1/2" strip can be used to cut multiple shapes. You can cut a 4" Hexagon, 8" Half Hexagon and a 4" 60° Triangle.

This is a great ruler Julie, where can I buy one?
Your directions in your tutorials are so clear & precise! you should write a book, oh, yes, you did write a book! "Skip the Orders" a great book filled with great instructions! I think you are getting a 'good reputation' of a designer who clearly explains 'what's next'
Thank you!
Wishing you continued success!
Awesome ruler for sure!!
Opts, Skip the Borders" that darn auto correct! Made my Borders "Orders"
Great tutorials Julie. And I like showing the 4 pieces cut from the same strip like this.
I picked up a HexNMore ruler this weekend and LOVE it. I started a new project using triangles: http://www.quiltmatters.blogspot.ca/2012/09/grey-and-green-modern-goodness-work-in.html. The ruler is really smart, Julie. I love that you can get multiple shapes and sizes and that the the same size of one shape is compatible with another. I especially love that it uses strips so it's quick and an efficient use of fabric. Genius! :D
This ruler is great.I`ll need one to my hexies so I could forget the cards when I draw my hexies patterns. Thanks for the tutoeial!
Your tutorials clearly take you step by step though the process, clearly and with great photos.
