Cake Pops!

Remember when I tried to make Cake Pops?
Yeah it was mess...
{but so yummy!!}

So when I heard that Bakerella was coming to a do a talk & book signing in San Diego I knew it was my chance to learn from my mistakes from the master herself!

She chatted about chocolate options

tools & more

there was a big turnout.
it was so packed that they ran out of chairs!

she did a Q&A... where I learned a lot.

and laughed a lot.

She had great shoes too!

People brought her pops

There was lots of signing... chatting... and laughing

with fans of all ages

& all kinds of cameras
B&N was great and took photos for anyone who wanted.

Lisa especially loved this Polaroid camera

this guy came b/c his mom is huge fan.
what a great son.

The B&N Staff was great!
Thank you for putting on a fab event!
{PS... Did I ever tell you I worked for B&N?... for a few years... so I have high standards for them and this store was great.}

I waited till the end since it was fun to see everyone else show off what they brought.  Meeting Angie was great... she seriously is the sweetest person ever! :-)

Her mom was also nothing short of amazing.

I want to borrow her mom & bring her to market.

We had a great time.

Angie is also a Canon! Woohoo!
Her mom snapped so many pics that her memory card filled up... luckily it was at the end of the day.

If you ever get the chance to go see her speak or meet her... do it.
very very worth it.
and her book... buy it.
great instructions.
beautiful photographs.
add it to your wish list.

disclosure: this isn't sponsored at all.
i bought the book & all my opinions are just that... mine :-)

So fun! I would love to hear her speak and give lots of tips. It's not as easy as it looks and some pointers would be great.

I so wish we had a B&N here in England. We had Borders for a good few years but they went broke! I'm really glad you had a great day.

I was at Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day and there was a machine there that you put batter into, and close, and tadaa out comes perfect little ball shaped cakes. Then you just have to put on some candy melts onto a stick and tadaa then dip it into candy melts and you are on your way. Not quite as sugar filled as they way she does hers, but so quick, I'm tempted to do it that way.

When you captioned a photo about meeting "Angie" i thought "who is that? That is BAKERELLA!" haha

Oh my gosh, now I am really jealous. I've made her basic cake balls a couple of times and I love her blog. It looks like a fabulous time.

Now that it's slowed down around here today (had half our kids home for Thanksiving yesterday so lots of cleaning and cooking) I can finally take a second to post here. You are SO lucky to have gotten to go see her in person Julie.

That kit of hers looks great and is one I've thought about getting myself as a gift for my son's fiancee. She's so much like me and just LOVES to cook, bake, and be creative in the kitchen. I know she'd love that. She doesn't have a lot of contact with her own Mom so she always calls me asking for help. I'm more than happy to help and give her the recipes I know are good that I've done before myself. Her own Mother refuses to give her recipes she used to make for her when she was a child.

Any of the signings for books or like this awewsome looking kit never get close to me. I would have to drive to downtown Chicago to most and that thought alone is enough to make me cringe. LOL Well, that and the $5/hr at most parking areas there. haha

Did you get all that painting done yet?
