Lucky Charm is made using my Hex N More ruler (click the link to the ruler to see the video tutorial on how to use it).

--

I knew right away that this grey chair in my living room would be the perfect place to photograph the pillow. Unfortunately my kitchen didn't make for a great background so I dragged the chair into my dining room...

That is when I realized I'd need to move my halloween decorations and plastic bins out of the way...

Then I realized there was still some more stuff in the background...

Eventually I got everything out of the background. Then I just had to decide which pillow or pillows to use on the cover.

This pattern is so fast and so much fun that I can't stop making pillows!! There are 6 in this picture, and I have already finished 9 of them!

Here's the other 3 I just made. The one on the right is made with Spectrum by V and Co for Moda. I'll tell you more about the other 2 below.

Lucky Charm is charm pack friendly. You can transform your favorite charm packs into charmed lucky hexagon pillows. It's a great pattern for an assortment of 5" squares in solids, blenders, batiks or small scale prints.

Here's a close up of my quilting on one of the pillows I made with Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co for Moda. I quilted most of the pillows with straight lines in one direction, but decided to get creative with this pillow as you can see.

For this pillow I quilted lines in 3 different directions to create a star in each of the hexagon blocks. The fabric shown here is Jasmine by Valori Wells for Robert Kaufman.

I'm a big supporter of quilt labeling & I try to label many of my projects, too, not just my quilts. So do you ever wonder how I label my pillows? I have these small labels about 1" x 2" that I fuse onto a bottom corner of the backing. Then I zigzag it in place. It's not as permanent as my method for quilts, but it's better than having no identification at all.

This is the back of my Lucky Charm pillow made with Early Bird by Kate Spain for Moda. The back of Lucky Charm is a great place to feature a larger print that coordinates with the front.

Here is the front of the pillow featuring Early Bird by Kate Spain.

Don't ask me to pick a favorite... I can't!!
Here's a round up of the fabrics featured in this photo, clockwise, from the top: Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co for Moda, Uppercase by Janine Vangool for Windham, Friedlander by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman, Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co for Moda, True Blue by Zen Chic for Moda, Modern Backgrounds Luster by Zen Chic for Moda.

The pattern is printed in full color, and it includes templates. Plus there's no Y seams!

Lucky Charm will be available in local and online quilt shops in November. Be sure to share your Lucky Charm pillows on social media using #LuckyCharmPillow. I can't wait to see what you make!

Come see me at Quilt Market in Houston, TX. I'll be in booth #2442 and I'll have my latest patterns at Sample Spree table #92. See you there!
