Ready for some outtakes from our cover photo shoots?
Fun Fact: My quilts generally lay around the house on railings or beds before their photo shoots so that they don't get any folds or wrinkles in them. Boomerang just happened to be hanging around on this day when I started painting my craft room. The combination of the ladder + partially painted room + finished quilt = cracks me up! (I promise the paint was far away from the quilt to avoid any possible nightmares.)
We decided to first take the quilt to our local park. It was pretty windy!
The wind calmed down a bit & we found this tree. I liked this photo, but it was just too gloomy in the background.
You probably can't tell from the first photo... but Lawrence is hiding behind the quilt! The wind kept knocking it down otherwise. He had to balance on that one rock in the bottom right & hold the quilt... all while ducking to not be seen! He is the best!!!
We were headed to Hawaii soon so we decided to take this quilt along and Arcade Game.
This is the spot! I just had to find the right angle + the right rock to stand on to get the cover!
Here is the back. I didn't have enough of the Pistachio green left so I used as much as I had & made it scrappy! Leftover strips in a gradient worked perfectly next to my label in my pieced quilt back.
Here is a detail photo of Angela's quilting. Angela quilted straight lines to frame boomerang within most of the diamonds and the boomerangs of each block. Then she alternated among straight lines, feathers and Figure 8s within the boomerangs of the blocks. The diamonds of each block were embellished with a complimenting geometric design to the design quilted within the boomerang.
The pattern is printed in full color, and it includes templates. Plus there's no Y seams!
It comes in 5 sizes: baby, lap, twin, queen, king.

This quilt is stunning! The colors are beautiful and restful. I love the quilting too it really brings out the angles of the blocks. Hope you had fun in Hawaii too.
Another project for after Gravity! By the way, the quilt really shows up well in spite of the "gloomy" background. Are we going to see your newly painted craft room?????
Another to add to my list to buy. You had this finished in June and could hold out till now to show...you got some will power.
Perfectly named quilt; Angela's quilting is amazing!
Julie, I'm loving all of your new patterns! And, the color palette - just awesome!
Hmmm. Lots of Kona blues, new craft room paint, Lawrence in a blue shirt. And your favorite color would be . . . ? Wonderful new quilt, Julie. And I love the reflection in the water!
Another great pattern!! Awesome colour choices.
I love this pattern, it's going to be difficult to wait for it to be available. This pattern is just what I have been waiting for, for the quilt to make for my son and daughter-in-law. Thanks for showing us how much fabric is needed for a king size, I'd better get shopping!
Just gorgeous, and I love that Lawrence' athletic abilities are being put to good use, lol.
I can't wait to make these new quilt patterns. Thank you for your creativity!!!
I really love this quilt :) And man, I need to step away from the quilt work long enough to paint my bathroom . . . That same color paint has been sitting on my counter for 2 weeks already, waiting for me to suck it up and do it! lol
I've got to put Boomerang on the "to do" list! Fun photo shoots!
I love this pattern! And thank you for telling your photo shoot stories. I find them really interesting. Hope you have a fun quilt market.
Just got my pattern and Kaufman fabric. These colors are perfect for a friend who just had a baby. I can only hope my quilt looks half as good as yours.
Of course gotta find someone to do the right quilting on it too.
I sat by a lady at a quilt retreat who was starting this quilt and knew I had to get the pattern. I absolutely love it and enjoyed your stories about taking the pictures!
