Block Holder Books & Fresh Fabric Treats!

The wait is over!  I can finally reveal to you my project in Fresh Fabric Treats.  I created these two adorable Block Holder Books.  They have flannel pages and roll up to keep your projects neat & tidy while you work on them!

Fresh Fabric Treats should be hitting shelves any day!!
{Any pre-orders placed in my shop will ship as soon as they arrive!!}

Six of the 15 designers were at Quilt Market and we did a book signing on Sunday morning.  We were all a bit loopy from working hard & lacking sleep... and the signing got a bit hilarious.

Here is one of the calm moments.

L to R
Natalia, Kim, Vanessa, Sweetwater, Me, John

Eyebrows raised at some comment...

Deep in laughter...

Commenting on something...

I'm not sure what just got said...

But clearly I couldn't contain my laughter!

I started laughing so much that I was almost crying...

...and it wasn't easy to regain my composure... but I did my best!

Debbie from Moda looking on... probably thinking we are all crazy!
Thank you Debbie!! We all love you!

Thank you to everyone who came to our book signing.  We hope that you had fun & we gave you a few laughs!  Thank you to Katy for snapping all the signing photos with my camera!

Ok so more about my project!
Here they are open... the flannel pages work as mini-design walls

Here is the outside.  I love how the bright American Jane fabrics look!

...and all rolled up!
This way they are easy to take to a class, sewing night, or just about anywhere!

--

I have a limited number and when they are gone... they are gone.

A giant pincushion is the perfect addition to a set of Block Holders!

Did you know that we did our own photography for this book?
Yup!

I wanted mine to be the best it could be... so Jared came over and set up lighting for me.  Here are some of the test shots I took in the beginning to check my lighting & white balance.

It was a great learning experience & helped me to grow in my photo skills!

Quilt Market - Recap of Wednesday

The first photo I took... out my hotel window.

The convention center

My empty booth!!

40 minutes later it isn't so empty!!

Between getting up before 4am... and then the time change of adding 2 hours to our day... we quickly were beat.  We got some food & went back to the hotel to rest.

Later I did get to see Chopsticks hanging in Robert Kaufman's booth!

It's 7:30am right now... and this is what my bed looks like.  One pile contains 14 quilts... made in 4 months... crazy!!  We are headed to the convention center to start hanging them up!

I might not get to blog again soon... but I'm taking lots of photos & will share them when I have time to post!!

Taffy!

Introducing Taffy!
You can get the PDF quilt pattern here.

Taffy is a mix of Lazy Angle Blocks & Traditional Blocks.
Did you know they play well together?
:-)

When Kate showed a sneak peek a while ago of the colors for hew new line I knew that I wanted to work with it.  Kate put a rainbow of colors in her new collection & even though orange is my favorite I decided to use just a few prints when designing this quilt.

Details
Fabric is Terrain by Kate Spain for Moda
Pattern - Taffy
Designed by me
Quilted by Angela Walters
Started on 4/9/11
Finished on 4/28/11
Quilt measures - 60" x 60"

Here is the back cover.
It has three size options... the Medium is shown on the pattern cover.

Here are a few detail photos... I need to take more but I already packed this quilt for market!

A peek at the binding.

The wind was crazy again... but the wind seems to know when I need to take photos of quilts.

I love this photo even though you don't see much of the quilt design.  I guess it's just the setting in my friend's garden... it was a really nice day and I wanted to sit out & have a picnic.

Here is a peek at the bottom.

Taffy - JBQ112
This pattern will be available after market!!

If you are coming to Quilt Market you can come see Taffy in my Booth.... #2644!
