Sounds like fun - see you tomorrow!
I'll be back, she said.....mwhahahah!
see ya tomorrow!
I would start on the whichever room is your gathering room. When we moved, we set up a cozy table in the kitchen nook, and made sure the kitchen itself was orderly and welcoming. Then, when people came over, we gathered there and visited comfortably. Whatever chaos was happening in the rest of the house didn't matter, and I never felt any stress about whether to invite people over or have them stay awhile, because our gathering spot was a comfortable place to be.
Did I miss you telling us in which part of California you've settled? I was raised in Southern Cal--Huntington Beach--and then lived in San Clemente for about a decade. Are you in my part of the world? If you need any advice, holler.

I have moved several times and the den is always the first place I decorate, this is where we gather. Main bath, kitchen, dining next and the rest of the rooms when I can get to them. Good luck Julie with your decorating as you settle in.
