Night Sky - Fabric Swatches

The upcoming sew along that I'm hosting is for Night Sky! Night Sky has been a popular quilt pattern since it was released. I've made a few versions of it that have grown to be quite popular, so I wanted to share the digital fabric swatches for those quilts with you.

Night Sky is Fat Quarter bundle friendly. We recommend 4 shades from the same color family to make each block. The lap size is made with 16 fat quarters, twin size with 24 fat quarters. You can use solids, blenders, batiks, or small scale prints for your fabrics.

Night Sky can be made with the Sidekick or the Super Sidekick ruler - either one can get the job done.

Toes in the Sand: Block 2

Welcome back to the Toes in the Sand Block of the Month sew along!

Did you want to receive this info in your email once a month? We'll email on the first Tuesday of each month with the names of the fabrics used in the blocks for that month, and if you're making the Queen size quilt, how many of each block to make for your quilt top. Sign up to receive the emails here.

It's OK if you don't have your fabrics yet. There's no rush to sew right away. We're making this information available early on each month so that you'll have it handy once you're all set to cut and sew.

The fabrics above correspond to the block fabrics at the top of page 9 in the pattern book. You'll need a fat eighth of each fabric for the Twin size quilt. If you're making a Queen size quilt, make 2 of the purple blocks and 3 of the pink blocks for the queen quilt top.  To make the blocks for a Queen quilt top you may want a half yard of the Pretty in Pink - Dragonfruit flamingos, fat quarters of the Hexy - Thistle & Stargazer solid, and fat eighths of the Tanzanite and Lucy - Dragaonfruit.

Julie will sew 1 block a month live in the Jaybird Quilts Sew Alongs Facebook group on the first Tuesday of each month in 2022. The live videos will be saved so group members can watch replays of it. The live videos will not be made public to view on other platforms, they will be exclusive to the Facebook group.

If you have an original version of the pattern book released in 2012 (top image), you can receive a PDF of the pattern updates that are a part of the 10th Anniversary edition (bottom image) here.

Thanks for sewing along with us this year!
