Love these fabrics! My most favorite summer project was a Clemson fabric sampler blocks quilt I made for my grandson. It included a cattywampus block (pieced every which way) which was his new word that summer! He liked it best.

One of my favorite sewing projects during the summer, was 10 years ago, sewing my wedding dress! Yes, this summer is my 10th anniversary! It was pure white satin charmeuse with chiffon overlays, two-tiered skirt, v-neck and v-empire waist with long sleeves that ended in three graduated flared sleeves. the hems of the sleeves and skirt edges, i did with the roll-hem on my serger with a white iridescent thread. I felt so elegant and princess-like; one of my aunts said I looked like an angel. Aww. It was a great day, marrying my sweetheart, best friend, and firefighter hero for time and eternity.

In Alaska we spend a lot of time outside during the summer because we spend so much time inside during the winter, so I usually work on my hexies or some other portable project during the summer.
I have a big stack of orange fabrics that need to be in a quilt. I found a pattern two years ago and keep looking at it so this is the summer for a quilt w 28+ orange fabrics.

This pattern reminds me of shades of summer , blues for water, yellows for the sun , oranges for the sunsets and greens for the grass. It makes me smile all the beautiful shades of color.

I really like the Night Sky pattern. I bought it a while back after seeing a posting about student work from your class at The Modern Quilt Guild's weekend sewing retreat in Portland.
I just counted my WIPs today and the count was 17, so I'm guessing I'm still going to be working on that list this summer (plus any new projects that I can't resist!!)
I machine quilt my finished tops in the summer. It is so hot and so humid in south Florida that I hate to leave my air conditioned home. If I finish quilting my tops in the summer I try to finish old unfinished projects.

My favorite sewing project this summer is a custom fitted T-shirt that I made for my self. I made it out of a beautiful blue a and I ironed two butterflies made of crystal on the shirt.

I love EPP for summer sewing because it's portable!
I am going to make a backpack for my dog, so she can carry her own water and bowl. I have some rip-stop nylon and nylon thread. It should be fun to measure and fit her, and then walk her when it's all done!

This summer I am starting two quilts that have been waiting in line. My quilt group has a retreat on the Pacific Coast every July for 5 nights. That is when I will get started and maybe finished with at least one project.

In the summer I love to sew skirts for myself and dresses and skirts for my best's daughter :)

I have two projects that I need to finish this summer. The 1st is a rag quilt for a granddaughter's July 5th birthday. The 2nd is a t-shirt quilt for a granddaughter who will be leaving for college mid August. But 1st I have to finish a quilt which is a graduation gift for a young friend who is receiving her doctorate from the University of Illinois this next Saturday. Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net

One summer I was out of work so I took the time to hand quilt a queen size double Irish chain as a wedding quilt for a friend. It was a wonderful break in between all the job searches and the few interviews I had. I finished it a couple of weeks before I got my new job, too!
