My favorite summer quilting project was a rainbow strip and flip quilt that I made for my daughter's 5th birthday. She loved it! I still tear up when I think of her reaction to it when she opened it. :-) Thank you for the opportunity!
Since it is way too hot to work on quilts in the summer here,I make smaller things. This summer I am looking forward to making a lot of bags designed by Sara Lawson!
My favorite summer sewing project is anything that involves hand stitching (embroidery or big-stitch quilting), so that I can sit outside on the deck and enjoy the outdoors while I stitch.

I love summers, because I don't have to work. (Working at school is great - summers off) I will be making lots of samples for my moms quilt shop. It is so much more fun and a lot easier in the summer, I can just sew all day long.

I have started my summer project already which is actually a two-in one and hope to have them both made into tops by summer's end. I tend to do applique projects in the summer. This summer I would like to work on a McKenna Ryan flower quilt that I am designing using just some of the patterns from her larger quilt design. My favourite summer sewing project would have to be (since I mostly make quilts) a nice easy strip quilt because it doesn't get too big too fast and you don't have to press seams as you go (summer in Australia is ridiculously hot and you do NOT want to be adding to that!

Seeing as we have just finished our summer, I'll share with you what my favorite quilt was. I did a jaybird hugs and kisses quilt for my son. He picked the fabrics, and laid it all out on the floor for placement, great bonding time!

My summer project is a sewing group at my church, we're currently working on some banners, but the summer group will be to get them to sew quilts for themselves and their families. We will start off with English Paper piecing then they can take them home and practice.

Great Giveaway! My summer sewing project (challenge) is a boat cover for my DH. This sweet guy sends me back into fabric shops because I haven't bought enough! Looking forward to this project to do something big (18.5') and nice for him!

My favorite summer quilt was a storm at sea wall hanging I named Beautiful Storm at Sea, in honor of my father's childhood nickname for me when I cried.
This summer I'm planning make a star wall hanging, Northern Lights quilt and the mini Lotus, as well as whatever other mischief I can find to get into.
