Welcome to the Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 8 Blog Tour!

My block is #782 and it is called Fall in Line.
It all started with a mini charm pack of Architextures by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman.
I added in a few Kona solids & my block was born.

A simple but amazing block! Love the fun rainbow layouts. I'm not sure what I would do, maybe try scrappy or anyone of Kate Spain's lines. Congratulations on having your block included in Vol.8, Quiltmaker's 100.
Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

I am not sure what fabric I would make the block out of. But it is a great block.
I think it would look good in batiks! Lindasquilting@yahoo.com
I have a charm pack of Stonehedge fabrics that would be great with this block! Can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the issue!
Simple and versatility block made with a charm package to start. WOW!!! Endless possibilities. Thanks
& Congrats. Happy Quilting:)
It's hard to think of another fabric since you hit such a home run using the architextures line. I love the low volume contrast the bright colors. I just ran across a line called Modern Roses by Stephanie Ryan that I think would make a great low-volume mix. I also think it would be equally fun to use bright colored mini-charms and then use a black to gray gradient for the solids.
I'm not sure what fabrics I would use. I like the way you used a low volume with the solids...I would love to get a hold of some Architextures. I love the quilt with the different shades of blue. Congratulations and Thank You for sharing! anglanouette at gmail dot com
pinks would be may fav. to use
i'd use some of my gorgeous batiks for this fall in line block. it would be a great project!
How about some polka dots or stripes? pjrquilter at msn dot com
What a great use of mini charms! It would be difficult to choose, but perhaps Tula Pink's Acacia using one color way per block.
I would probably use Collage by Such Designs, but that could change ... too many choices. As I look at my stash, I realize that I'd better get sewing!
Architextures is one of my favorite prints. I would use it & some other
"texty" prints. thanks for the chance to win!
wigglypup2(at)yahoo(dot)com
I would have to pull out some of the Christmas charms I've accumulated over the years for this one!
I think your block would look great with fabric from my scrap box and solid rainbow colors or a monochrome blue for the longer lines.
I would use some of my kitty prints with bright solids. Thanks!
I'd love to be chosen. To make your block I'd use Moda Midwinter Reds collection the lighter prints for the smaller squares and the reds and tans for the rectangles . I do have a couple of packs of the squares... I wonder if my local quilt shop has yardage of the reds and tans

I would use fabrics from my stash--probably some solids with some low volume prints.
I would use the architexture fabric line to make my husband a blanket because he recently graduated with his drafting degree!
well if I had a mini charm pack of Architextures like you I would use that with primary colors of Kona fabric.
What a cool block!! I'd like to try your block with Comma! :)
I would be using some bright gem toned colors like in the second version = in fact I like the stepping stone effect. Fun Block - time to get out the colored pencils and play.
A mi me gustan muchisimo los tonos vintage, grises, palidos y mezclados con oscuros. Tu elección me gusta y queda genial. Un saludo. Adela.
I'd probably use some Robert Kaufmann, or maybe Joel Dewberry??? Love this book!
I think maybe charm pack in autumn colors.

I'd try this block in scrappy-ness. I love the looks of the constant background. congrats
Love your block! There are so many choices - so little timme. I really love working with black and wite with one splash of color much like your first version.
i would use maywood studio fabric line
I like the solids for the stripes and polka dots for the lighter parts.
I love the fabrics you used. I would love to do it in some great batiks.
Love your block. I'd probably use my Halloween stash and another decorating item for Halloween is never a bad thing. Thanks for the chance to win.
I have no idea what fabric I would use for this block. I'd have to go pull and lay things together. I don't usually shop by name when I'm shopping for fabrics...I just buy what appeals to me....
I would use some great text prints like allison glass and some great kona solids.
Thanks for a great giveaway.
I love plaid scrappy quilts and would make your block using red plaids with various shirting scraps I have for between the larger strips. I cannot wait to try this. . .
I think I'd like to try it just with Kona solids
I have loved your site. You inspire me. Than you. Now you want me to name what material line I would use.....
Problem I'd have to get up and go look at my little Minnie sqauares. But they are just a smiage more active. You can see the pattern not quite as mute yous are till you get somewhat closer.
Julie
I love the bright colors, but the inside I would fussy cut flowers and butterflies. With the blues, I would fussy cut ocean animals or birds.
I think I would try it with some fall colors, simply because of the name of the block!
Very cool block! I just got a mini charm pack of Kona solids - I'd probably flip your idea and use the solids for the squares and some low volume for the stripes! Thanks so much for the chance to win!
I'm pretty new to sewing and quilting so I don't know my fabrics yet. Love your block.
I have started saving some solids, I think I might try those. Very cool block.
Great block. I think it would look great if I dug into my scrap bag.
Congratulations on a strong block pattern.
I would use black on white and white on black prints with black, white and emerald green solids, and then quilt with emerald green thread.
I think I might use all solids. I have a bunch.
I think I would like to make it with the botanics line when it comes out!
I would use gray prints with bright solids for the strips.
Those fabrics are just charming! Such a simple block but very unique when put together. I'm surprised 100 Quilt Blocks is up to volume 8! I thought I had them all and I only have up to volume 4! Love it - what fun!
I would probably use some gray, blue, aqua, and teal from my stash. A solid or print that would read like a solid would be my choice. Nice pattern.
I would make the small blocks out of scraps in 1 color value and make the
straight lines in a single dark color to complement the small blocks. Very interesting you made.
I would love to use cherrywoods in this block.
Love your block....I would use greys and low volume along with a leaf green
I would love to see it made using
Graphyx by Mark Hordyszynski with Red fabrics for the solids.
http://www.michaelmillerfabrics.com/shop/collections/graphyx.html
I would use Moda fabrics.
My newest fave fabric is some Kaffe Fassett 6" strips- the scraps of which would make this block just right! Mixed with a couple of solids, like yours.
Hmmmmm.... I love how you made the block with the text/graphic grays and the bold colors. Jumping off from that, I might print my own fabric (if I couldn't find it) of single inspirational words in varying fonts framed by various colors, depending on the words of the theme, i.e. cancer support, mothers day, christmas, etc. If printing the fabric was too tricky, I might stitch the text strips out on my embroidery machine. Thank you!!
Golly, I have so much fabric in my stash, I would likely use that…love the b&w with color stripes…I would try and make mine look like that….thanks! --Connie

To me this block says scrappy! I have lots of 2 1/2 squares in my stash... Pick a colour theme and away we go!
"Congratulations!" I would select the same fabrics that you chose and I would invite my grandson to choose the colors and where to position them. I am
including him as he creates interesting projects with Legos.
Mary Arline
Might try it with some soft florals, a friend gave me some old Liberty scraps
I have some great word fabric I would love to use witht solids as you have done. Love it. Thanks.
I think I would just go stash diving to decide what fabric to use. Seems like the perfect scrappy, stash-buster block to me. Congrats on getting your block into the book and thanks for the giveaway.

Your block would be great with a color wheel fabric bundle I bought recently. Congratulations on having it included in this issue, Julie!
I think I'd use her new line, botanicals, when it comes out. I can't wait to get my hands on it. I love the low volume contrast with this block!
I would use some bright batiks for the mini charm squares and black and grey for the solids.
I have some of Moda's Sweet Serenade that would work wonderfully in this block!
Love your block and the quilt! Very modern!
I am currently in love with Scrumptious and I think it would look fabulous with your block!!
I love black and whites with bright green... I could make them all from my scraps with this fun block!
At the rate my projects are stacking up, I wouldn't get to this block until Carolyn's newest line is released, so I'd make mine with Botanics! Thanks for the chance to win.
I think I would use Minimalista or Textures by Angela Walters with matching solids...I love how your block turned into so many different designs! I'm always amazed at that!
Congrats on your block in 100 blocks! I love the way you used the architextures line with the solids!
I would try to use my vast stashed fabrics. I have so many plans and not enough hours in the day! Thanks for the giveaway.
I love it with the low volume fabric, and I have a 'thing' for Architextures...so I'm having a hard time coming up with what other fabric I'd do your block in - it would likely be Architextures as well. I think it's a lovely block!
Julie - wannabequilter (at) gmail.com
Tula Pink's newest colection, thanks for the opportunity!
I would use up my low volume scraps, or use black and white with red or blue, or maybe turquoise. Thanks for the giveaway!
I really like what you did with Architextures and the bright solids. I'd try to duplicate your block. Of course, blue is one of my favorite colors, too.
Would love to use Botanics, once it comes out this month. Great block. I especially liked seeing the variations in a quilt.
I would use Tula Pink's Acacia! Thanks for the giveaway!
