i love peppermint bark! yummo! but i just found a recipe for oreo truffles, and i feel like i will love them too.
I love all things chocolate, but for Christmas my husband and I have the silliest tradition. We buy each other a box of those chocolate mint patties and put them in each other's stocking. This started the first year we were married, 31 years ago, and continues to this day. So for Christmas, they are definitely my favorite because HE is my favorite!

I can only eat a smidgen of candy because of diabetes, but when I could eat all I wanted, my favorite was chocolate covered cherries, aka cordial cherries. Way sweet, but love 'em so much!

I have been reading your blog for quite some time and I don;t think I have ever read anything about candy so I would say you are a simple candy cane girl.
I love homemade pecan pralines. Maybe they are not strictly christmas, but my grandmother always made a large batch and gave us a tin of them every Christmas, so they are linked in my mind!

there is a nougat-type chewable candy that's got a tree design in the middle and is minty and just yummy--it's a wrapped candy that i find each year at top foods and try to make last as long as possible!! (reminds me of how you make fimo beads with a design that goes through the whole "log" as you cut into it)

My favorite holiday candy would be the Hershey's Kisses we steal from Mom's candy dish. The covered dish sits in the living room, and if you're not careful it rattles something fierce and annoucnes to everyone that you're sneaking chocolate! So the trick is to do it silently. It's a challenge - which makes the Kisses taste ever so good when you succeed!!!

HOMEMADE TURTLES CANDY
24 Kraft caramels
72 pecan halves
3/4 c. milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets. Arrange 3 pecan
Halves on cookie sheets in the shape of a turtle. Place a caramel on top of each cluster of nuts. Carefully place cookie sheet in oven. Leave in oven 6 to 7 minutes or until softened. Remove from oven and press caramels down with a greased spatula. Melt chocolate chips and frost cooled caramels. Refrigerate to set. Wrap in plastic wrap.
