Discovering new exciting patterns colors me happy. I recently discovered your site and your products and have been happily making Rock Candy Table toppers for all of my family and friends.
Anything that is bright & colorful puts a smile on face! I love this collection & I currently keep the mini charm pack next to my bed so it makes me smile every morning. It may sound corny but after this Chicagoland winter & injuring my right wrist two wks ago, it helps.
It's all about the fabric for me. I get so excited when I have some knew yardage.

Lately I've been craving "hot" - orange, red, hot pink, combined with different shades of gray and white. Something warm while I wait for winter to thaw.

I seem to enjoy working on smaller projects the best, but just looking at all the fabric lines are what "color me happy". My quilting joy seems to be buying these fabric lines and then maybe actually sewing something!
I've been enjoying making small sewing projects like zippered pouches! It's such a fun way to use up small pieces of fabrics or to showcase a fabric I really love. Plus they're usually quick to do so they're satisfying!
I really enjoy putting on an audio book and cutting and piecing a quilt. It is almost a Zen experience. Usually I start when everyone else has gone to bed. I get lost in it. Pretty soon I look at the clock and it is whoops I better go to bed.

Oh, what beautiful fabric in this line!! Hmmm... Color, I think, would be aqua family. The joy is in the creating, the "Oh, look how great this turned out!", and watching people's faces when you give them something you've made. :)
I have recently been busy making baby quilts for my first Grandchild who should be joining this world in May. I also love making Sampler quilts and mystery quilts.
I love to piece quilts, and beautiful fabrics usually inspire them. I find that I encounter fabrics that I must have and then I look for a pattern that I think will show them off appropriately. I guess that means that that the happiness starts with the fabric (and I really love the Color Me Happy line)!
My Daughter and I have a quilt retreat coming up later this month. That my friends is what makes me happy.:)

One of my most cherished possessions is a quilt my great-grandma made. It is completely hand sewn and hand quilted and is a true colorful scrappy treasure. I even recently had my newborn daughters pictures taken on it. It has been with us for so many special memories and will be passed down to my daughter to have for her own family someday. It colors me happy to think that any of the quilts I make will (hopefully) one day be as cherished. This "quilty happiness" feeling is what drives all my quilting projects no matter what I am currently working on.

A project that stimulates me and yet is not too frustrating makes me happy. I give away most of my projects and that makes me happy. I have several blankets and don't need quilts. I like to give away to those who are less fortunate than I am. I wish that those who receive them knew how much work went into them and appreciated them. Yet, I know that when you give a gift, the gift is given with love and there are absolutely no strings attached.

Paper piecing makes me happy! I find it amazing that I can sew tiny pieces of fabric to sections of paper and then put those sections together to form a beautiful block. Of course I would never be able to do it without the many talented pattern designers out there!

What truly colors me happy is finishing a project! When it's a single, solid, finished thing, with no pins, clips, or otherwise, and I can pick it up and feel it and use it and show it off!

I find joy in spedning time with my Mom and sisters sharing our mutual love of quilt making. I have really enjoyed 'getting to know' new fabric lines over the passing years; when I started in the early 90's, there just wasn't the variety we enjoy now!

Right now, I'm working on a triple Irish chain and a baby quilt that both have lots of yellow in them - the color feels like its own little sunlamp on the gray winter days here on the East Coast.
