Pattern - August Stars, JBQ 165
Designed by me
Quilted by Angela Walters
Started on 8/4/16
Finished on 9/24/16
Quilt measures - 55" x 72"
August Stars can be made using my Sidekick ruler (click the link to the ruler to see the video tutorial on how to use it). You could also use the Super Sidekick ruler to make it. I mention both rulers because some quilters have one or the other, and either one will work. The pattern features the Sidekick.

Ready for some photo-shoot outtakes?
The first step was to finishing binding the quilt. Not a bad view if you need to bind on vacation!
I love the lily pads floating in the water, but the background wasn't interesting and I couldn't get close enough to the quilt to take a good photo.
We tried putting the quilt on the other side of the walkway, but the lighting wasn't in our favor.
Next we looked at this little spot. I liked it, but it wasn't perfect for the cover.
It still wasn't right so we kept searching. The bridge you see ahead of me in this photo is where we ended up shooting the cover.
Ever wonder where I'm taking the photos from? Well now you can see since Lawrence snapped this on my cell phone while I was getting all the camera settings just right.
I also made an August Stars out of Sugar Bloom by Verna Mosquera for Free Spirit Fabrics. I love how different the two quilts look. This pattern is written for 2.5" strips, but it would also be a great way to use up scraps.

The pattern is printed in full color, and it includes templates. Plus there's no Y seams!
It has 5 sizes: baby, youth, lap, twin, queen.August Stars will be available in local and online quilt shops November 1. Be sure to share your August Stars quilts on social media using #AugustStarsQuilt. I can't wait to see what you make!
Come see me at Quilt Market in Houston, TX. I'll be in booth #2442 and I'll have my latest patterns at Sample Spree table #92. See you there!

I absolutely love this. So, um, how would you rate the difficulty on this one? Just wondering if it should go on my 'somdeday' list or the make it soon list.
Oh Julie, this is gorgeous. Nov. 1st, eh? I'm going to need this one.
beautiful pattern!!!
Available at Houston?..
I'd love to buy this when it becomes available. Will it be for sale as a pdf? I am no longer purchasing paper patterns or books.
