jif... it isn't just peanut butter

my mom had an idea..
not a small one...

you see her best friend became a grandmother last year.
and her grandson...
well his initials.. are JIF.
and his first birthday was last week...
so what idea did my mom have?

just this!!
a GIANT jif pillow!

it was a big hit!!

the pillow ended up bigger than him..
but he jumped right on it!

 instead of a nutrition label
my mom embroidered the details about joshua...

she also did his name in a circle
and i appliqued a peanut in the middle

we also added his parent's names...

i couldn't be happier with how it turned out!!

so how did we do it?
my mom embroidered the 4 panels...
i sketched the letters to scale... about 10" tall or so
then cut the red, blue, green, & tan pieces.. and pieced them together
i appliqued the 4 panels from my mom & the letters
the front & back were each about 23" wide x 31" high
i ironed them onto fusible fleece & sewed up the sides
then i pieced in the top & bottom... and stuffed the pillow!
