#ParkBenchQuilt Block 2 - Ball Game

Early this year, my latest Block of the Month (BOM) design, Park Bench, hit stores, and I've started a series of posts showing off the blocks you're making of each design. Each of the blocks is named for favorite memories and moments in parks. Block 2 is Ball Game. The 4-part diamonds remind of the bases on a baseball diamond.

I've been collecting pictures of blocks as quilters have been sharing them on Instagram. It's so much fun to see your blocks come together and the fabrics you pick to make your quilt unique.

Why do you love being a part of a BOM group or shop program? Or, why do you prefer working on a Park Bench quilt on your own?
Post pictures of your blocks, top and finished quilt using #ParkBenchQuilt and you might find your work featured in a future blog post.

Do you have a favorite ball game in a park moment?
Tell us about why you love BOM designs or share a favorite ball game in the park moment in the comments!

I prefer to have the whole quilt to work on at a time. Purchased my quilt fabric from A Quilters Oasis in Mesa, AZ this spring and had the pieces all cut out before heading north to SD for the summer. The top is finished and at the quilters now. Just waiting to sew the binding on. Excited to have it this close to finished.

I did a couple of BOM quilts when I was just starting quilting. Since then I've mostly done whole quilts and worked at my own pace. I do love online mystery quilts and have done 2 of Bonnie Hunters' by following on her blog.

I have two favorite ballpark moments: most recently I visited my mom and dad, both 81, and Dad & I went to see the Brewers play the Nationals at Miller Park. The Brewers loaded up the bases in the bottom of the 2nd and I turned to my Dad and said "This would be a great time for a grand slam" and Scooter Gennett hit one out on the next pitch! My best day ever in the ballpark was two years ago when I was at the Mariner's game in Seattle and saw Felix Hernandez pitch a perfect game.

I have been following BOM for quite
a while now. The different types
of designs that have evolved in
recent times are a combination of
creativity and art blended
perfectly. They do have a huge
huge impact on the people following this industry as a professional. This is a good method to engage one in a recreational work as quilting
is an art with intelligence and
fun. I frequently visit
different sources of information for the same, one of these is- http://www.warpandweft.ca/blog/
