I'm not going to lie, I already miss Google Reader. Change is hard for me. I was one of those people who wanted to keep Word Perfect with the blue background, sad I know. Well we only have a few more days of Google Reader... so here are a few of your options.

Amen and me too. Neither is comfortable and they feel cumbersome. I keep using reader. July 1 :-(
I have to admit that initially, I was really reluctant to change. But I love Feedly. It seems easier to use than Google Reader was. And it seems easier to organize. In fact, I have started following more blogs now because they are so easy to manage and read. Good luck!
I agree with you. I hated to lose Word Perfect and learn a new word processing program. And now a new blog reader. I'm actually used to the Blogger Dashboard so I'm ok until "they" decide to change that.
When I realized that GFC was leaving on July 1st I was bummed. BUT then I joined BlogLovin (yesterday) and it has been super easy to use and follow my favorite blogs.
My only concern is not as a reader but as a blogger--and that is losing my readership that use GFC and don't know it is ending/won't join some other way. Only time will tell!
I don't like change either, so I am with you there. Don't like either of the readers (am I beginning to sound like an old grumpy woman?) Anyway, I follow via email, and even though sometimes my mailbox gets fullish, I like taking a moment out of my day to read my mails.
I'm using blogger dashboard. if they change that i'm up a creek as i'm a newbie to all this anyway!
I know change is hard for me too. Lucky for me I already get your blog by e-mail so I'm set!
Don't even think about it, use Feedly! its awesome and I loved it more than google reader the first day i used it.
Easy to add new feeds, easy to read, easy to organize.
Try it, you'll love it.
I'm already following you on bloglovin' :D
I found it difficult to make the change, but now that I've gotten used to Feedly I'm quite happy with it.
I've been using Feedly and Bloglovin concurrently for the last 3 weeks just to compare over a longer time span. While mostly similar, I am liking Feedly a bit better. One reason is pinning for my Pinterest boards. When I'm reading in Bloglovin, it opens the blog in Bloglovin and the only picture I can pin is the one they use in the feed (which I think is the first pic in the blog). I have to go to the blog separately to pin any others pictures. Not so with Feedly. I might be missing something...not sure....if anyone knows, let me know! :) Eventually I need to pick one and stick with it!!!!
I, too, dreaded the switch and after doing some research I tried out a few. Feedly makes the most sense to me after being a long time Google Reader user and, in fact, I like it even more. There are additional features I prefer and like the ease of editing my feeds. Feedly is my new and improved Google Reader.
Me, too! But, just today I read about a new to me option, G2Reader. They were overwhelmed today because of an article about it so things were kind of slow. So far, I like it and plan to use it. I've imported my feeds into several other readers just in case.

I've tried Blog Lovin and really didn't like it. Feedly for the win!
I have them all. You name it and I have tried it since the announcement. I think I have finally settled on RSSOwl. It is actually loaded on your computer and you just ask it to update. So far, so good.
Change does suck! The good news is since I have been using bloglovin' I'm able to follow all my favorite blog much better than before. I never miss anything!
I like that Bloglovin emails daily blog updates. Feedly is easy to use and I think both are good substitutes for Reader once you get used to them. Still, seems odd to me that Google would retire Reader...
Really glad that there's an email option ~ that's how I'm going to be reading blogs from now on.
I miss Google Reader already too (heck, I still miss the Bloglines I used before Google Reader), and I will continue to use it until 11:59pm on Sunday night - LOL!
