Call me crazy... but last week I got the idea to make a miniature Radio Way. The blocks are a 1/4 the size of the original quilt.
Original Quilt = 50" x 70"
Miniature Quilt = 12.5" x 17.5"
I love all my quilts... and sometimes they go on trunk shows & are gone for long periods of time. It would be great to have two of each but honestly I'd never get anything done if I tried to make two of everything. Unless I make them a lot smaller...
Smaller would also mean I wouldn't have to find more storage. I'm really running out of room for all my quilts... eek!
Don't they look so cute together?
The mini isn't quilted yet... just basted together. I haven't quilted anything in a while since I send most of my stuff to Angela. I'm kinda at a loss as to how to quilt this little one!

The blocks are also 1/4 the size of the original quilt.
Original Quilt = 64" x 80"
Miniature Quilt = 16" x 20"

Love the minis! Why is everything cuter in miniature? :)
Happy Friday!!
What a fantastic idea!
I've made some mini quilts to practice my machine quilting. I gave them to my grandkids and they LOVED them, in a surprisingly big way. Not sure why, but maybe because they are their size?
OMG!! how cute!!
So darling! I see more in your future....they are addicting : )
Oh I love those Julie. Awesome.
I've done this with a few of my quilts... Makes me happy everyday to see them!!
I really like the mini quilts. Both look great in tiny size. Great idea!
Your minis are darling. Great idea.
What a great idea! I think this will work for a lot of things. I don't have unlimited space for quilts, so this is going to be filed away for future reference. Thanks Julie!
Love the minis...so cute! Hope the patterns for these tiny versions will be available some day! TFS

Wow, love the minis! There is something so cute about them!
So clever, love this idea! Would be a great way to have a quilt that you have given to someone else!
Just gorgeous! Yep, I think you should have a mini of all of your quilts. Imagine being able to have them all up on the wall at once!
So cool Julie! The baby quilt I made for Annika three yrs ago I should totally do this with. I originally made the blocks miniture...by mistake...don't ask. I always planned on making her a doll quilt to match her big quilt and this gives the motivation to find the tiny blocks! BTW I wandered into Verizon today and walked out with a new iphone...lol.
Great idea! I do hope you will continue to have fun with these and sooner or later we'll see a collection of all your quilts in miniature :)
Hi! Great idea and both quilts are really beautiful! I think it would be a wonderful set if the quilt has a matching pillow with a smaller pattern!
Have a great weekend!

PS. Make a pattern with the miniature for a pillow to your shop, and who buys a quilt pattern could buy also the pattern for a miniature pillow.
I love them! Perfect for small spaces. I'd love a 'little Taffy'.
Love this idea!! I could whip minis out faster than a large quilt. Mini patterns in the future?
Crazy! Well you told me to call you.... just kiding! Love the little quilt! You know it was a good pattern when it is so nice you ahve to make it twice!!
I just bought Radio Way and can't WAIT to work on it. Still picking out my fabric. I would love to do it small as well.
Any chance you would do a tutorial on how to do a miniature quilt? I have been seeing them everywhere and would love to know how.
oh my GOODNESS!!! so cute!!! It's such a great idea! It's the perfect way for a quilter to hold onto a little piece of their work (if they are giving it as a gift or its going on tour) AND it's also a great way to use scraps!
(plus they're totally cute!!!)
that mini radio way is just adorable and so is the come what may - great idea
Love the itty bitty quilts...great idea! Smiles~Beth
SO cute! I have been experimenting with tiny pieces myself and while it seems odd at the time, I'm always thrilled with the teeny-tinyness...
Love the mini-versions.
