Hex N More!
She's 2 years old today!
Here's some fun info about the Hex N More, in case you haven't been acquainted with each other yet.
What makes this ruler so special is that you can use it to cut 4 different shapes in 4 sizes each!!
The ruler comes with FULL COLOR instructions.
All of the pieces can be cut from strips.
When the Hex N More was first launched, she had 2 full-sized quilt pattern and 3 little pattern companions.
Now she has 2 Block of the Month books (Toes in the Sand & Park Bench), 7 more full-sized quilt patterns, a companion ruler, the Sidekick, and a Mini Ruler little sister, Mini Hex N More! And other pattern designers are also using the Hex N More in their designs, too.
Hex N More makes some fun shapes. You can cut jewels, triangle, hexagons & half hexagons, all in four different sizes each!
Hex N More is a fabric strip friendly ruler. Here are some action shots of how she cuts some of her shapes from a strip.

I LOVE my Hex N More! I've finished tops for Science Fair and Disco, and even started on a Mini Disco with my Mini Hex N More! I think Delight may be next up for me... Once I get my hands on the pattern! ;)

ReplyDeleteLove the hex'n'more ruler because it creates the right sized triangles to go with the corresponding hexagons, so they all go together and I don't end up with a pile of wrong-sized cut shapes!

ReplyDeleteWow Julie! Already been that long? I love the Hex'n More. There are so many things that it can be used for. You did an amazing job incorporating all those ways into this one tool. And it's not just being used by quilters either. Just this morning I was on the Pfaff website to check out their monthly free machine embroidery project and design. I smiled when I saw the instructions called for your Hex'n More ruler.

I just finished Tiny Dancer using Ms. Hexy M and a fat quarter bundle of Summer Breeze II. My niece loves it! The cutting was Easy. Toes in the Sand is in the queue for 2015. Keep the designs coming!

ReplyDeleteWhen the ruler first came out I took one home to try it and then did a demo in the shop where I work. Then I bought my own ruler and a couple of patterns. I also have the mini hex and more. And a sidekick. Then life interrupted and I have not used them. I am going to start science fair right now.

ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a buyer of rulers, but I fell in love with the Toes in the Sand pattern last summer and decided to go for it! I've since completed the top for that particular quilt and made a few pillows also using the Hex n' More. It's easy to use and makes complex shapes very do-able!

ReplyDeleteI bought the Candy Dish pattern and ruler to make some pillows for my daughters. It was so much fun and the pillows came together quickly with the ruler. Would love to try more patterns. Love Jawbreaker!

I have this ruler and the side kick on my Christmas list this year. I have wanted to try them for a while now but just haven't had the funds for more rulers.

I am eager to try the Hex n'More ruler because the patterns I have seen made with it are amazing, plus I have read so many good things about it on the many blogs that I follow.
ReplyDeleteI did Toes in the Sand BOM and I loved it. The ruler was great and loved how each block looked so different but used the same ruler.
ReplyDeleteI have the Hex n' More; Northern Lights is the next quilt I plan to make. I have the mini Hex n'More, too, and used it to make a mini Northern Lights. It was very easy to use and I'm really excited to use the full size ruler!
ReplyDeleteI made the Tiny Dancer with my Hex N More ruler. The mini is on my wish list Btw, I have an idea for how to improve the markings on it.

ReplyDeleteI love this ruler because of how easy it is to use. It seems thicker than most rulers. Also, it's like having two rulers in one, because I can cut hexagons or triangles with it.
