Carnival

Last but not least is Carnival!

I used Central Park by Kate Spain on the cover.
This quilt & I have had quite the journey.  It was one of the first ones I designed with the Lazy Angle ruler but the last one that I made {so far!}  For whatever reason I just couldn't find the perfect fabric to make it out of... so I kept working on the other designs.  Then one day I had an "aha" moment and grabbed a Central Park Layer Cake and I knew it was the fabric for this design.  I placed a quick order with Pink Chalk Fabrics for the borders & binding and got to work!

Back Cover
I used my favorite photo of the quilt for the back. I also listed that you need Twenty 10" squares as opposed to "Layer Cake" in case you are working from your stash, going to buy fat quarters, or want to know that you have enough fabric for the pinwheels on two quilts if you do buy a layer cake.

Lots of outtakes from this one...  I tried many places to photograph it...

#1 I tried the wood wall again... I'll find the pattern I can shoot here!

#2 A kid's play area

#3 rope ladder

#4 with me holding it in place

#5 I like this photo... but for the cover it makes you wondering what I'm looking at.
{Answer... nothing... just trying not to look into the sun!}

Here is the full picture of my favorite shot from the shoot.  {the one I used on the back} I took this while I was setting everything up waiting for my amazing dad to come be the photographer.

Now...
Let me set this up for you.
It was cold... and getting late in the day.. I should have had a jacket and gloves on.
I had everything set up & needed to wait till dad had a minute to come help me.
Anyone who has ever met my dad knows that he's a funny guy & as a result we got mostly goofy photos!

I really was using the quilt to keep me warm!

Here is a collage of a bunch of the outtakes.
Thank you dad for all your help!!

In case you were wondering... I'm sitting on a bench made out of 2x4's that I made when I was around 10 years old.  It still amazes me that it's in one piece!
I hope you have enjoyed a closer look at my 5 new patterns!
I'll post as soon as they are ready to ship with a list of shops you can order them from.

note
The patterns are off at the printer now and will be available to ship on March 16th.

  6. What a super cool design! I love the design of the pinwheels, but I also love the design that the white fabric makes, sort of like a pedestal shape. Looks like it would be fun to make too!

My favorite picture of this quilt is the one on the rope ladder, well besides the goofy ones of you staying warm!

Great peek at all your patterns...I'll be on the lookout for them!
