I filmed a couple of videos on Seaside as a part of the Journey 2 Nebula. You can sign up for the Journey self paced as well as watch the videos on YouTube.

The pattern uses my new Sidekick Ruler. It also includes the option of full size templates just like my other patterns.

Violet Craft's Waterfront Park

It was hard to narrow it down to just 5 fabrics! I picked a variety of color & scale.

--
Here are a few outtakes from the cover shoot. I don't have too many as I was able to get the shot I wanted pretty quick!

Detail photos that show you the amazing quilting by Angela Walters.

I'm seriously running out of words to describe her work.

I also have already made a second Seaside Table Runner! This one features Simply Color by Vanessa Christenson

Angela Walters was nice enough to snap these photos for me since the table runner is currently in transit back to me.

Seaside will be shipping to quilt shops next week. You can see a list of shops that stock my products or ask your local quilt shop to order it for you.

If you make a Seaside Table Runner please post photos online and use #SeasideQuilt so we can all share in the fun!

UPDATE 3/2/15: If you need some assistance aligning the diamond pieces to assemble your Seaside table runner, check out my tutorial on how to do that here.

Giggles Baby Quilt

This week I'm going to tell you a bit more about each of the new "little" patterns for the Sidekick Ruler. First up is Giggles!

Quilt Details
Fabric is Kona Solids by Robert Kaufman
Pattern - Giggles, JBQ 133
Designed by me
Quilted by Angela Walters
Started on 7/3/13
Finished on 7/18/13
Quilt measures - 40" x 44"

I used this pack of 10" squares of Kona Solids to make the cover sample. It's their "bright" collection of colors & also happens to be the same mix I used on the cover of Snack Time.

For the binding I choose to use an Ann Kelle print from her Remix collection. The dots are similar to the solid colors and create a fun binding without taking over the quilt.

Here is the back of the pattern cover. Each pattern has its own hashtag! #GigglesQuilt

The pattern uses my new Sidekick Ruler. It also includes the option of full size templates just like my other patterns.

Jonah came to visit this past weekend & my brother took these photos of him giving the quilt a test drive.

Clearly he is also a fan of Robert Kaufman Kona Solids!

It wasn't long before he was all Giggles!!

Here are some outtakes from the cover photo shoots.

The color was nice & even here, but you can't see the quilting very well.

Detail photo of the corner.

I liked this photo, but since the light was coming from behind the quilt you can see my yellow horizontal strip that contains my label.

I kept it simple on the back and did a yellow horizontal strip with my label.

Another detail shot. This one really shows Angela's quilting.

This one was better, but you can still see the label strip.

This closeup shows the adorable Ann Kelle Remix print that I used for the binding. The little dots of colors give the perfect amount of play with the binding, without overpowering the quilt.

Some of you may remember last week when I posted on Instagram & Facebook that I was taking the binding off a quilt because it just wasn't the right choice...

This was the quilt I was talking about! I love the chunky chevron fabric, but as binding so much of the design was lost. The binding was now working as a distraction instead of supporting the quilt.

I took the binding off & started over. I'm so glad that I did because the dot print is perfect!

These few shots I took inside really show the detail in Angela's quilting.

This almost ended up the cover shot, but the wind wasn't cooperating!

Here is the final photo!

Giggles will be shipping to quilt shops next week. You can see a list of shops that stock my products or ask your local quilt shop to order it for you.

If you make a Giggles Quilt please post photos online and use #GigglesQuilt so we can all share in the fun!

Introducing the Sidekick!

I am excited to share the Sidekick ruler with you today!!

This new ruler cuts diamonds, triangles & half triangles.

The ruler even has its own hashtag! #sidekickruler
Use it when you post about your ruler on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest & more!

Each ruler comes with full color directions.

The Sidekick and Hex N More rulers can work together or alone. The shapes and sizes cut from each ruler can work together to make unique and interesting designs.

All of the pieces can be rotary cut from strips! Here is a peek at the inside of the directions.

I have also filmed a video tutorial on how to use the ruler.

I also have put together three new "Little" patterns that work with the Sidekick.

First up is Giggles!!

This adorable baby quilt comes together fast using 10" squares or a Layer Cake. I used the Bright Kona Solids with an Ann Kelle Remix print for a little pop with the binding.

Here is the back of the pattern. Each pattern has its own hashtag! #GigglesQuilt

Next up is Seaside!

The Seaside Table runner is make from just one shape... the diamond!!  I used Violet Craft's Waterfront Park with Kona Iron for the background.
Here is the back of the pattern. The hashtag for this pattern is #SeasideQuilt

Last but not least is Rock Candy!
Rock Candy is a hexagon table topper made from a charm pack. I used the Sunset Kona Solids with some black to make the colors pop!

Here is the back of the pattern. The hashtag for this pattern is #RockCandyQuilt

How does it work

Full color instructions are included with each ruler. I will also be posting step by step cutting directions with photos in the coming weeks.
