100 Blocks Volume 3

Welcome to day one the 100 Blocks blog tour for volume 3 of 100 Blocks!

I was excited to find out that my name made the cover...
and then even more excited when I noticed that my block made the cover too!

So which block is mine?

Illusion

I'm sure most of you could have guessed!
A few weeks ago Judy over @ Patchwork Times showed the cover and asked her readers to guess which block was hers... and most of the comments picked my block as hers!  I was honored!  We e-mailed back and forth about it and had a good laugh.

This issue will be on sale starting May 10th.  I'll have a limited number of copies in my shop as soon as they arrive or you can pre-order one now.

My favorite block in the magazine {after mine of course} is Patched Geese by Karrie Lyne of Freckled Whimsy.

Not only is my name on the cover with an amazing group of people... but I'm smack dab between The Happy Zombie & Kim Jolly... two amazing quilters that I'll get to catch up with soon at Quilt Market.

When you get a copy... my block is #278

I wanted to make a quilt to show you the possibilities of my block... but I knew with getting ready for Quilt Market that I wouldn't have time... so I recruited Candi and she made this beautiful quilt!

She combined a Poseidon fat quarter bundle of Kona Solids with Kona Ash and I love the result!  It wouldn't have been my first instinct to use these colors which makes it all the more fun for me to see it come together!

Candi also added a pop of pink.

Here we are rocking shades since it was bright as can be on Saturday.
{This is before we spent 6+ hours sewing together}

Chatting about the quilt...

Showing me the back... she made a pieced back!  My kind of girl!!

The back has two coin strips and looks fantastic.

Check out Candi's blog for more photos of her quilt... and to learn more about her.  Candi has been helping me get ready for market in so many ways & I'd be going crazy without her.  Lucky for me she agreed to come to SLC to help me with my booth.

So do you want to win a copy of 100 Blocks??
Leave a comment on this post to be entered!  I'll pick one winner at the end of the week.

  40. I love your block, it has lots of possibilities. The centers of the squares could be fussy cut to showcase the fabric. OR it would make a great "I spy" quilt for a child. OR the colors could start in the upper right of the quilt shown as one end of the rainbow and wash thru the quilt.
Ha ha, I guess you can see that ti inspired my imagination.
