linda's quilt

my mom is incredibly lucky to have a wonderful group of friends.
this specific group of women has been getting together for birthdays.. holidays... and so on for as long as i can remember.  they call themselves "the valley girls" after where we live.
so when my mom found out... that linda.. was diagnosed with breast cancer... she was in shock.
after the shock wore off my mom decided she wanted to do something for linda... and asked if i'd help make a quilt.

so a bit of planning... and coordinating 7 people's schedules...
and we have linda's quilt

the 7 squares with white centers are each messages from the other 7 valley girls.

  10. Many blessings to Linda. My sister Tammy is an Ovarian cancer survivor. She has gone in and out of remission for 13 years. We will keep Linda in our prayers. The quilt is beautiful and I am sure it will be an inspiration to her. Life is all about the relationships we have and the love that we share with those around us. Remember that God has us each where he wants us to be each day.

  19. We did the very same thing for my best friend, Sue, when she was going through her therapy last year. She took that quilt to every treatment and was comforted by being wrapped up in the love of all her friends.
