bee beautiful block catch up!

i'm in 2 bees.
march was my month in bee imaginative.
and i didn't have to make a block...

so somehow march got away from me when it came to bee beautiful
luckily angela was super understanding!

she asked for blocks with 90 degree angles..
no other rules.

i made 2 for her.

first i started with a square... and built around it..

and for the second i started similar..
but then got a bit more "free" with my piecing.

and april has been audrie's month

i also made 2 for her.

and i'll never make this block again.

sometimes bees inspire you to make blocks
and sometimes you learn what you don't want to make

don't worry audrie... i still love you!

  1. I do like the challenge of piecing some difficult blocks occasionally but when I'm done...I'm done for a while too. All of these blocks look great Julie.

  5. I love the last two blocks, but I completely understand. Although I am currently teaching my daughter to sew, so I have been looking for only really straight line patterns. Soon I will need a good challenge or two.

  8. Your points look great on that star, but I can see why you'd never want to make it again!

  9. beautiful blocks! I love the colors on those first two blocks for angela. The second set is pretty too, but looks like it could be fussy. Good for you for finishing them!

  12. So you're telling me when my month comes up in my block exchange that I shouldn't choose the block from Material Obsession 2? It sure is a great block!

  13. I agree.
if you like a block style but know it's gonna be a pain in your butt then it's best to source the work out in a bee or swap--like that modern chopped up looking block from oh fransson...got to do that for a bee--never touching it again!! :)
