My Travels

When I was younger I did a fair amount of traveling on my own and with my family. Looking back I haven't had many vacations in the last 10 years. Whenever I would have time off from school or work I'd go to California to see my brother. Yes I know some would call that a vacation, but I'm talking about going somewhere you don't know anyone... staying in a hotel... and just being on vacation. I'm going to have my first "vacation" in over 6 years later this summer. {and i'm pretty excited!}

I have done some traveling recently. I went back to Philadelphia for the first time since I moved to California. I took about 50 photos on my actual camera & 250+ on my iPhone. It was the kind of trip where I didn't want to lug my camera around most of the time. The week was hot, but it was great to catch up with friends and explore the city.

At the airport

Home!

Phillies Game

Catching up with my Aunt Mary & Uncle Steven

Philly Night Market

Japanese Gardens

Walking through Philly. Gotta love a guy who is willing to carry my Dr. Seuss bag!

Pats & Ginos. {Pats wins}

For the record, I have never actually had a cheesesteak. I'm not a big fan of cheese. BUT i do love a plain steak.

Hanging out with my oldest friend. We were next door neighbors and I was at her first birthday party when I was 13 days old.

Meeting her son Jacob for the first time.

Lunch with Candi!

Initiating Lauren's Mother and Sister into Delta Phi Epsilon.

This trip included a lot of food... and we photographed a lot of it :-)
Sabrina's on Drexel's campus for dinner.

It was hot & humid.

Pool time with Allison & Lyss

Pod for dinner. One of my favorite restaurants!

Independence Hall

Cousin Allison!

Meeting her daughter Tori for the first time.

National Constitution Center

Ben Franklin's Grave Site

Liberty Bell

Dinner at Rex1416

Liz, Joaquin & Loren

Rachael & Eric

Law & me

The engineer fascinated by engineering at The Franklin Institute.

My favorite part... walking through the giant heart.

The pendulum.

The Academy of Natural Sciences

and like that the trip was over.

Then last week I took a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. I'll let the photos do the talking.

That looks like the sort of trip that is good for the soul! Let's hope it's not another 6 years before the next one! :) Great shots!

Viewing the Philly photos was bitter sweet. Although I was happy seeing you show offf your "home town", it also flooded so many memories of your childhood & "Oh the Places we went"...which are now 3,000 miles away..New adventures await you & I couldn't be happier for you! Here's to many more 'vacations'!

Wow, two great trips! I grew up outside Philly and that pizza from the night market looks amazing! I've been to Joshua Tree a few times and it always makes me feel renewed.

It is great to go home again, even for a little while. The photos are awesome. 29 years ago I used to camp at Joshua Tree and repel off the bolders. Thank you for taking me back home for a few minutes. But, new memories are always being made!

Looks like a great trip or two. The light out in the desert is quite different, isn't it?
And the sunset progression? Glad I'm not the only one who likes them :-)
